Don't be surprised if Visa and Mastercard send your company a letter to list all shareholders & ID's

I got 2 already for my companies here in Holland.
No problem, I gave it to my accountant to fill in and return. No secrets there.

I wonder if anybody else got the same letter and forms to fill in and reply to within one week? Is Holland one of the first where they ask this or are other countries doing this also?

This anti-terrorisme and money laundering rules [read: taxation] are getting ridiculous, since my grandmother who died 2 years ago at age 86, got monthy letters up to a year ago, send to her house, where they aks her to show her ID at the bank's office also, even though I called 4 times she died and send a copy of the death certificate twice by post, mail and fax....

I hate to agree with your post but I am afraid it is true non the less. The threat of terrorism has definitely altered our society in a way I am sure make Bin Laden giggle his skinny bearded ass off... but hey, go shopping

Privacy?

What privacy?

It's all Big Brother all the time now.

The terrorists have DEFINITELY won.

Here's what SHOULD have happened immediately after 9/11:

1) We do NOT allow the Bin Laden family to immediately fly back to Saudi Arabia.

2) We FIND Osama and present his fucking head on a stick for the world to see.

3) We immediately make plans to rebuild the WTC within 8 years, as a national priority, and to show the world we can immediately recover. Same skyline.

4) We switch almost everything in the US to natural gas until we can switch to cleaner energy, so the need for foreign oil is reduced instantly. Cars, buses, you name it - all running on 100% domestic natural gas until a better plan is conceived.

That's my opinion anyway.

Of course that is not how it went down, and now we are much weaker, thanks to the mistakes we allowed to happen.

It's just annoying to keep filling in form after form with companies like banks & creditcards, the last 2 years, which you have dealt with for 20 years. Waste of time :2 cents:

The tone of letters send out to all companies in Holland has a "prove you are NOT a terrorist" in them, which I do not like. I understand these guys are just doing their jobs, but they could rephrase their text to make it less obvious and less rude to decent companies. Unless they wanna scare them somehow.

Here they just say: "Because of the new laws against possible terrorism and money laundering...you have to fill in these forms....". At least they are honest, but it's still a bit rude I think to send out such a letter to every company in a whole country who has a creditcard.

Surprised that someone noticed that. It was the easiest to gimp on for a cheap joke. I didn't even bother trying to add a beard. It's also on backwards.
