Palin's 'Drill Baby Drill' Vs. Oil Spill

So, Tea Baggers are mum on this situation. Where are the Republicans on this issue?

TheSenator 05-03-2010 03:58 AM

Another reminder for you Republicans

OMG!!! :eek7
That's unbelievable...someone had WAY too much time on their hands. Funny as fuck though!

Fletch XXX 05-03-2010 04:30 AM

Umm, I saw them on CNN the moment this occured saying 'this shouldnt stop offshore drilling" IN fact they were fear mongering $9 gas at the pumps. Turned on CNN to see if they were even discussing the event and bam, fear mongering about oil price.

TheSenator 05-03-2010 04:50 AM

Just switched on FoxNews for giggles....first thing I hear is "Obama's Katrina".

Nice try FoxNews but not even close to Bush's "Brownie, you're doing a heck of a job" Katrina disastrous response.

sweetcuties 05-03-2010 04:51 AM

She's a dumb bitch :2 cents:

Sausage 05-03-2010 05:15 AM

So Palin is responsible for an offshore oil spill then. Tie her to the stake and light it up..

TheSenator 05-03-2010 08:44 AM

TeaBagger set up the bombs.

Tom_PM 05-03-2010 08:51 AM

They had their talking point all set as usual. Whenever a tv person asked them why they dont want more wind farms, more solar, more geothermal, they stated they wanted an all of the above approach to energy.

Thats their cute way of saying that they are owned in large part by oil and coal, so fuck all that hippy tree hugger bullshit about sun and wind and earth. Dont fuck with big energy.

The left is not much different.

gaffg 05-03-2010 10:32 AM

2nd video is great

dmhubby 05-03-2010 10:40 AM

Brilliant!

leedsfan 05-03-2010 11:51 AM

hmm, don't see a lot of people defending the position of offshore drilling in this thread. What a shocking surprise.

TheSenator 05-03-2010 12:21 PM

TeaBaggers official response is "............ fault"!

CDSmith 05-03-2010 12:27 PM

Major automakers are to blame. Finish developing the hydrogen fuel cell car and market the damn thing and the US rids itself of it's addiction to the almighty oil drug.

Christ, it's 2010 and we're STILL burning gas to run our cars? RIDICULOUS.

Fletch XXX 05-03-2010 12:27 PM

If you look at the map where that rig was, it is horrifying that they allowed it so close to our protected wildlife refuge waters, our entire coast is protected region, yet they are allowed to set up shop so close? Its beyond obvious that in case of accident like this the entire refuge is now oil covered and black.

There is no logic, this is profit fueld only. That is like letting a chemical company set up their factory next to national forest, its not allowed because its not smart.

spazlabz 05-03-2010 12:31 PM

I think it should be obvious that no energy solution is 100% safe (although unless you are standing under a windmill I don't know how it could fuck you up). I am a strong support of green technology but as long as cars burn fossil fuels we are all held hostage by big oil and foreign powers that most definitely do not have our best interests in mind

America needs to demand investment in infrastructure with strong support of green energy

Amputate Your Head 05-03-2010 12:31 PM

Hard to believe that this woman had one foot in the White House door.

Palin should be held down while someone tattoos "Drill Baby! Drill!" across her forehead, and then made to go work on the front line of the cleanup of the Gulf spill, until it's finished. :2 cents:

Did I miss something? I haven't watched the news much lately and didn't know that Sara Palin's was responsible for this. Damned she is one nasty person. I'm no fan but hey, let's be realistic here? Or perhaps this is Brazzer's fault.

Options are get more oil or use less oil and any combination of the above.

Which of us are willing to go into Plan B? Stop driving or using anything that comes from petroleum?

Or did we forget that Obama himself called for more drilling and exploration in the Gulf.

Has there ever been a Nuclear Reactor incident aboard a sub...that the public is aware of? I cannot recall one. The reason I said that the public is aware of is because there have been a couple of Nuclear powered subs...seemingly mysteriously...go down.

I've done my part. By moving a block away from my old job nearly 20 years ago I cut down on my driving by over 80%. Been working from home as a fulltime webmaster for 12 years now so still no need for much driving. I also spent nearly $30K a few years ago to have my house insulated inside the walls and out, as well as the attic, with cellulose fibre, outer insulated housewrap, and new siding.

Those two things alone, less driving and insulating the house, have saved me and continue to save me several thousand dollars per year. Plus I do a lot of other stuff to conserve energy, water, electric use, etc.

If I was any greener my skin would turn the color of my lawn.

I just saw Michael "heck of a job" Brownie on FOXNEWS spewing so much bullshit I had to share it with you all.

He was saying that Obama was shirking his responsibility by "constantly" saying BP is responsible, BP this, BP that. According to Brownie, this is the federal government shirking it's responsibilty (holding a private company responsible for their private fuck up).

But wait, thats not nearly all! What almost knocked me to the floor was Brownie, and yes he actually said this, he said "during Katrina, you *NEVER* heard *ANYONE* ask Mayor Nagin or Governor Landroux why they didnt evacuate more people? Why didnt they get more prepared? Why did they send people to the super dome?" Evidently Mister heck of a slob Browneye has partaken of SuperCrack.

The entire story of Katrina and government was the fact that Bush blamed EVERY problem on the Mayor and the Governor while he was sitting on his ugly ass in craw-fuck texas!

As I recall, governor landreux was so sick of the bullshit that when Bush finally mosey'd his oil rich ass into louisiana for a photo op, she coralled him into a private room to get him to sign off on stupid bullshit that was in the way of her getting emergency water and such into the area. Now am I just high and misremembering all this shit?

Did Obama in all his anti-christ evilness spill the oil? Is he simply BLAMING the responsible corporation in order to enslave us all? Did Nagin and LA Gov. fool us all by complaining constantly on the air about why they're taking shit when it's the fed and fema fucking up everything?

It is a fact that Mayor Nagin fucked up in the evacution of people from the city...it is also a fact that Governor Landroux fucked up in that she did not call for Federal Troops in an expediant way...as she apparently did not know that Federal Troops could not legally assist the state without her request.

2 US Nuclear subs have gone down, neither because of the power plant
and it's been decades since that happened
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/USS_Scorpion_(SSN-589)
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/USS_Thresher_(SSN-593)
We had drills all the time, they are very safe and monitored.
I wore a badge that monitored radiation, I didn't get very much at all, no one did
Underway, no one had colds, because of the purified air. We drank water that was so pure, it barely had any flavor
If you have interest in it, read about this guy

here's the sub I was on

Thanks for the links. BTW...I have been aware of Admiral Rickover's career. He was a bigger than life character...along the lines of many other bigger than life military characters.

Little guy, showed up with just his uniform for a week long cruise. A real character, longest career in the military. The USSR even let him tour one of theirs

Hmm, maybe it's because the US doesn't require an auto shut off valve, that they make and use, that derek didn't have that

I adore offshore drilling. When there isn't a colossal fuck up such as this one, offshore drilling does wonders for the waters eco-system. (That isn't sarcasm - it's the truth!)
