Most rev share options in hosting are only about 10%. To go on the high end say you get 20% recurring. On a shared hosting plan average $12/mo that referral will to have remain a client for over 25 months to equal a $65 one time payout. Plus, the payouts are higher for volume sales.

If you are talking about referring dedicated clients, this is a different equation of course.
