Has ICQ been taken over by the Russians? I've been getting a ton of russian spam on my ICQ over the last month or so..

i hope they deal with spam better than AOL did

you can deny it in ICQ too, just don't accept messages from people not on your contact list and enable authorization when someone adds you - problem solved.

Actually, yes it has. A Russian company purchased it from AOL just a day or two back.

Can we as an industry finally move on from ICQ one day? I understand having a smaller number for vanity reasons but jeez let's get over it.

Yeah been blocking them, but just getting tired of having 2 or 3 notices like this that I have to block every day.

Would be nice if there were an industry wide acceptable alternative.
