VPS.net - Who uses this host?
 

I had saw an ad for them in a trade mag a month or so back. Beyond that, never heard of em.

Whoever they are, they are not well known in adult circles. If you are looking for VPS for an adult web site it would seem to me that you would be best served by a host who understands your requirements. We don't offer VPS ourselves so I have nothing to sell you. I recommend http://www.way3.com for VPS solutions.

vps.net is a long a big list of popular mainstream hosts, they also own westhost, 10tb, midphase, vps.net, and many more.

I recently signed up for them and so far i love it, signed up at another mainstream vps host at the same time and the differance between the two was amazing.

Stuff like buying solid state nodes, daily nodes, etc.. puts vps.net above alot of the other hosts i've used.

Way3 is also good people so you might wanna check that out too

Honestly, I'd recommend GoTekky for VPS.

They're REALLY cheap, and aren't overloaded. You get to speak directly with the owner.

For my plan I get the following:
1.2 ghz cpu
3gb ram
60gb HD
Unlim transfer
100 mbit
and it's FULLY managed.

All for $34/month.

I use their sister company (10TB) for hosting. Great service, great company, HORRIBLE DMCA policy. If you ever get DMCA complaints, be prepared for a lengthy battle with your host even if you own the work in question. If you don't get DMCA complaints, they're great. Otherwise, avoid.

Yep that is why i left them.Two fake cp complaints and two server shutdowns.But i might use them as external bandwidth where dmca and any complaint cannot affect me.

Also worth noting, if you have a Bank of America card on file with vps.net, every month it will trigger fraud and it cannot be stopped.

VPS.net is amazing. Probably in the top tier of hosting companies, and I've used almost all of them and currently using 11 different hosts right now, including VPS.net, so I know they're good and blazing fast, probably the fastest hosting company nowadays.

The only thing is their support is a little slow. On regular stuff, that isn't an issue, but for important things, it's a concern, so I wouldn't (and I don't) use them in projects or sites where there are chances of some heavy support (like special server configs and such, which is 99% of my sites lol). And if you start to add to that cloud thing, and special support and stuff, you end paying a lot more than what you expected. This isn't a hell of an issue since they're cheap, but be warned, if you have traffic, expect to pay almost 100% above of what you thought you'd be paying at first.

In short: if you want your users to have a great experience and you don't have weird install requirements, then VPS.net is second to none. If you think you'll make intensive use of support, avoid them

what amazes me is the people that never heard of them, I really thought they were really known, at least they're part of one of the biggest hosting networks in the world
