I undrstand however, its impossible for people to keep downloading and istalling every single new communication software that comes out.

From ICQ - Trillian - to AIM - to MSN mSger - to SKype - etc.

As a business, I have email, ICQ, and a cellphone - 24 hour live communication. All my emails go to my mobile in case I am out away from desk etc...

Bottom line is, I could have had the work done by now and this client would be postig his banners to his sites, I have nothing against skype, but my cell is in my pocket all day, and clients call me all the time.

Installing Skype, I would hate to be viewed as someone who didnt at least TRY.

Actually Id like to thank this vipmedia guy for the thread, until this I had no reason to have skype. All my clients either prefer not to talk and just shoot me an email or the opposite and call my cell and we discuss the project. However, installation of skype went smoothly, my headset worked fine, I made test call and it worked everything is cool.

Not bad, I expected it not to work LOL

So now I have an additional tool in the arsenal to communicate with otherrs and discuss their project.

Thanks vipmedia, some of us old schoolers have seen so many of these proggies come and go that its gotten to be headache to install and use them all.

skype rules

Well, you could get a cellphone that supports Skype. I use it on my Nokia e71. Works marvellously - for both chat and talk :)

I still try to avoid skype for business. My in-house designers use it and that's enough for me. I guess I feel more professional on the cell phone :)

cell phone connection is less predictable, you can discuss something important and next thing you know you hear 1/3rd of what other side is saying and be like "WAT WAT I CAN'T HEAR YOU, PLS REPEAT AGAIN, STILL NO COMING TROUGH, LET ME CALL YOU AGAIN" call again just to end up with same poor lousy connection. and when you chit-chat with friends you can go on for hours with perfect crisp connection.
