I'm looking for an app to view sites as if I were surfing from an iphone.

If you only need to view browser based apps you can use some free sites like http://www.testiphone.com/

The best way to do it would be to install the iPhone SDK.

What is the purpose? If you just testing for mobile compatibility get User Agent Switcher

honestly... that's what i did. couldn't have an iphone due to not being on at&t. so i went out and bought an ipod touch.

Indeed, but you need an Intel based Mac to do so.

That one isn't the best as it will show flash playing even though you can't play flash on an iPhone.
