How Google puts it's images search results?

How Google puts it's images search results? Well, I was just searching one term (non adult) and pages 1,2,3,4,5 shows the same photo at the same place - 2nd row 1st (but actually it's different cuz it is edited to another image file (changed size and snap area..) and hosted at different website and host ...but it's still the same photo with the same unique object on a black background.... is it just coincidence? =) I can see it later at page 14 - 1st row 4th result, page 20 - 1st row 2nd result etc... the fact the photo is popular is not hard to guess because it's originally from the Wikipedia featuring the keyword I searched... interesting... any thoughts?

No :) everything different, IP, domain, host, and image file details (size, name, resolution, format was actually the same .jpg).... the only thing which is the same is it the source image (from Wikimedia Commons) but if it's edited how would Google know it's the same image? Well, unless it has human intelligence or real person was picking the results. :upsidedow

Didnt they announce long ago that they were working on image matching technology? Scanning different images for the same mathematical results taken from features or some such?

If they didnt, I think you can safely count on it being done anyway.

yeah i noticed that too. yeah something black hat rather than something google is doing intentionally.
