What browser do you use?

Which browser do you use?

I used IE8 up until just 3 days ago. I installed Safari and I can honestly say it's FUCKING awesome! I noticed a few things in my TEVS script that also need updating because of different browsers. :thumbsup

Depends on what I'm doing.

As a web developer, my main browser is Firefox. I have to use the excellent Firefox extension Firebug for my web development. You can live edit the CSS and inspect the DOM. addons.mozilla. org/en-US/firefox/addon/184. (Sorry, I have to intentionally mess up the links because I'm not able to post links on the forums yet).

To test the webpages in multiple versions of IE, I use IETester. my-debugbar. com/wiki/IETester/HomePage.

I also use Safari and Chrome to test how the webpages render in the WebKit browser engine.

There are so many browsers out there that it's impossible to test how the webpages render in each one. Therefore, I use browsershots. org/ and then I see a picture of how my webpages render across a bunch of different browsers and platforms.

L-Pink 04-27-2010 07:13 PM

I don't want to hijack this thread, but in short: yes, we have promo tools now!

I wrote our FHG Exporter, ZIP Exporter, and Banner Exporter. We now have movies and pictures FHG's. The ZIP files contain all of the pictures and the Flash videos so you can make your own galleries as well. The banners are old, but I have the designer working on some new ones right now.

Here is a sample FHG: wifeysworld. com/fhgs/107 (Sorry, I can't post actual links yet because I have too new of an account).

You can also email me: admin AT wifeysworld DOT com.

We're looking for new affiliates, so hit me up!

:2 cents:

I mostly use old good versions 2.0.0.xx of FF and new Opera. As well all other browsers (chrome, safari...) because I need to know how my sites run on them. For some very familiar (safe) sites to me I use IE6 because it's the fastest.

punkpred 04-28-2010 08:45 AM

for the most opera

AdultSoftwareSolutions 04-28-2010 09:42 AM

FF - Good for testing and developing sites because of the all the plugins. The SEO tool bars are also great.

Safari - I keep safari around for cookie testing issues because it lets you "reset Safari" very easily.

Chrome - for general usage I would have to say this is the best browser out there. It is also the most standards compliant.

IE - Avoid at all costs. Only use when I need to insure compatibility.

michael.kickass 04-28-2010 11:56 AM

Firefox and Chrome

CyberHustler 04-28-2010 12:05 PM

I use Chrome > FF > IE7 atm. I have to check my work on FF and IE anyway.

Ginn 04-28-2010 12:39 PM

I use Opera and Chrome.

Mickey_ 04-28-2010 12:42 PM

Switch to Chrome and you'll see your productivity increase. Much faster than Safari.

CyberHustler 04-28-2010 12:51 PM

I'm on chrome full time now.

Best-In-BC 04-28-2010 12:59 PM

Chrome is the best by far, FIreFox is pure garbage!

Hawkins 04-28-2010 02:22 PM

Chrome, Opera from GPRS

MrWho 04-28-2010 02:35 PM

For a long time Opera, and then I was glad with a customized FireFox version ;-)
But now FF sucks by crashing all the time :-|

Will try Chrome now

smutnut 04-28-2010 02:44 PM

I try to use anything but FIRE FOX but on this computer I have all my shit on fire fox so I use it. I notice when you install a browser with no extras, it's always better than what you've built up with all the plug ins and intalls and extras.

For instance IE on my Windows 7 lap top is the most awesome browser ever, but I've keep that laptop so naked of installs and extras it's a dream.
