I JUST WANTED TO MAKE SURE I HAD A FIRM GRASP ON THE SITUATION. :2 cents: |
All the other countries you listed are pretty radical and not known for human rights. I agree though, that a lot of people get a free ride but using countries considered Western to facilitate your argument would go a lot further.

Trust me, it's the EXACT same here in the UK. Great huh ?!? Sometimes makes me think why do we even bother working sometimes. The ones who come here illegally have a much easier life. And they cross half of Europe to get here. No wonder! It can't be long untill we have more mosques here than churches... |
This SHOUTY EMAIL has been going around for ages with the generous country changed to suit whoever is resending/reposting it.
I bet nobody ever checks if any of the FACTs are correct. |

It may be difficult to lawfully gain citizenship here, but a heck of a lot of people have. The reason WHY there's that difficulty is that so someone can't just walk in and leech off the system. Otherwise, if our country would allow that, then we should expect the rest of the world to as well, in which case our immigration issues can then be shared by the world. Sounds good to me. My personal stance is that I do feel for the illegal immigrants who are coming here because their home country is shitting on them and they have nothing else they can do to survive. It IS unfortunate and hopefully someday Mexico especially can get its act together so people can reasonable live/survive okay there. As it is though, there's also a lot of illegal immigrants that come over illegally to stay off the radar for the sole purpose of committing crimes, and we have to have SOME way to stop that problem vs. simply saying there's nothing we can do about it, fact of life, etc. If it means some of the poor illegal immigrants who simply want to come here to work and survive with their families have to go, then perhaps they should look into the proper and legal means into getting citizenship here, which is what so many LEGAL immigrants are doing. That or for anyone in AZ right now, relocate to CA where I doubt a law like this would be passed until a decade or two now at least. Hell, CA would sooner exile smokers than illegals. :1orglaugh The whole cheap labor aspect of it can and should be dealt with by targetting corps that hire illegals. They'll have to pay more for their labor, but if they don't like it, they can relocate to a different country, and many have. Oh well - their loss in the long run IMO. |

I'm not so sure that is 100% correct. There are many states where you can't get a driver's license and you can't get a social security card. Illegals can get a form of ID that shows they are here on a temporary basis, but it isn't a social security card. What some of them do is come here then have kids and those kids are US citizens so they get social security numbers. Also a lot of illegals just use a fake social security number. There was a woman working a grocery store a friend of mine worked at that had a fake social security card. She used it to work there for 13 years. She was in the union, had bought a car and a house using it and only after 13 years did the IRS catch on and report her. As for free health care. . . there are some clinics that help them for free, but mostly they go to the ER and urgent care centers where they don't pay the bill. They get welfare by having kids while living here then that kid gets the social security number and they can use them to get welfare, food stamps and other things. The same goes for rent and housing help and the kids that are US citizens get to go to public school. But if you don't have a kid that is born here and is a US citizen then you will have a very difficult time getting any of those things. That is why many illegals come here and quickly have kids because it will make staying here a lot easier. |

When teabaggers talk about "take back our country" that's code for "Get blackie out of the WHITE House and back in the cotton fields". I think the KKK is full of morons but I got to give them credit that at least they are HONEST about their views and don't try to sugarcoat them unlike teabaggers. |

Seems like a lot of Mexicans up north here are always at the home depot trying to get work. They seem like hard workers and don't necessarily milk the system. |
No, you did not get it right. All of your letters are capitalized and you forgot periods in some places.

Am I not allowed in your home, uninvited? I can get a good tan, grow a little "pepe 'stache" and roll up on your property in a low-rider if you want. Or an ice-cream truck. I'll bring watermelons and chicken. I'll wear a turban even, and tape my eyes so they look slanted. Or dress like the Pope if you're into that shit. WTF's your point? I understand the Arizona law's got a bunch of people all tweaked out, but it's about fucking time. Everyone's profiled regardless of color; it's just circumstances vary on what the target profile is. And your whole "but this country was founded by immigrants" argument is old and worthless. |
what up aye?

It's not JUST the job situation or the tax burden, but the criminal activity as well. My grandma now lives in a gated community, but used to live in her own house in Chula Vista (south SD county) and had illegal immigrants stealing stuff from her backyard and even sometimes trying to stay in her backyard. She's literally lived there since it was a rural area, but city has built up around her and over time the illegal immigration got worse and worse to the point where she needed a gate around her house, and even then eventually did need to move to a gated community for further protection. It's impossible to know what it's like being near the border here unless you are. I realize it's also hard to understand what life is like for the illegals too, and I feel bad for the fact that many of them really have no choice but to try and get by here illegally. However, there are BILLIONS of people around the world that need help, and the US can't carry that entire burden and help EVERYONE even though we're expected to. That unfortunately is a fact of life - a lot of people in this world are in very tough circumstances mostly out of their own control and there's not a whole lot that can be done without putting other people in tough circumstances. If Mexico wasn't rapidly deteriorating, there wouldn't be as big of an illegal immigration issue. However, the US already has enough people that are getting poorer and poorer to continue getting an increasing influx of more of them to take care of, people that did not go through the legal process of being here like others did. Sooner or later we have to show the people that were born here and of course the people that came here legally that they are a priority - as it is I wouldn't be surprised if border states like CA and AZ ultimately spend more money on illegal immigrants than they do on legal immigrants. If there were an easy way to do it, then I'd be against measures like the AZ law, but I just don't think there is, and I don't think the AZ law is as dangerous as some of you believe it is. Heck, I just learned recently from an article that the self-employed are a bigger target for IRS audits than large corporations (which likely have a LOT more to hide) and wouldn't be surprised if I ever get audited given that, but rather than get pissy that I'm being targeted simply because I fall into a particular group, I'll willfully go along with it because I do my taxes correctly, know full well that they'd see that and be on their way afterwards, and that I have enough benefits of living here that I'm willing to put up with it. |
Good luck

I used to work at a large technology company and this guy that was one of the night janitors was from Mexico. He was legal, but moved here when he lost his job. He had a degree and taught history in a college in Mexico City. He got laid off when the new president of the country was elected and cut a bunch of funding to schools. He could teach at a lower level school, but he said living here and working at a farm during the day then part time as a janitor at night he was able to send more money home than he would have made if he was a full time teacher in Mexico. Pretty sad. |
borders in usa, who need that :)

but when you can't find anyone to pick your fruit, wash your cars, clean your windows, what are you going to do.
if the farms had to pay fruit pickers minimum wage the costs would soar. Southern Spain, (unemployment rate of about 30%) if they're not having a siesta, they're complaining about immigrants, but during the recent olive harvest they're all too lazy to go out and pick olives. The immigrants come in and do it all. You need immigrants. |
