This is true...and it could be culturally bias too...for example if you ask how many liters of water does an elephant drink in a day it might be general knowledge somewhere else but here people wouldn't have a clue..

Also the majority of people are indeed intelligent if you have a fair sample...just look at that show millionaire...the audience is always right

its obvious they found some bums and insane peeps to interview. any self-respecting New Yorker knows the date by heart. NYC felt like a war zone after it happened. people were very scared and troubled by the event and the toll it took on so many people's lifes.

It's a day I will never forget and I lived halfway across the country.

When I was young older people always told me that as you age you will run into events that you never forget. The assassination of JFK, the attempted assassination of Ronald Reagan... major events like that. 9/11 is my first.

haha every year or 2, people die from Rocky and Carlos, but its so good people don't care and keep going.

And for me... I was on top the WTC just about 2 months before this.... I can't forget.

I lived in NOLA before during and after Katrina.... I was only there one year total.. but I learned alot... Outside Bourbon :)

And I'm one of the few white people to have Survived THE DOME during Katrina.... long ass story!

i honestly dont know why people put so much weight on this attack, we have killed more civilians in Iraq than americans died in those buildings in retaliation for the attacks. You war mongers got what you needed, a reason to start another war.

yes Sly, I should have said any self-respecting American (US citizen), the interview was done in NY and my focus got locked on New Yorkers.

I found out about towers somewhere between 10 and 11 am when was getting on Brooklyn Bridge ramp heading to do my business in Manhattan. Bridge was already blocked by single police car and officer, I asked what happened, he pointed my attention to cloud of smoke where towers were...
At time I woke up I sow strange cloud and though some storm is brewing.
The roads were empty in Brooklyn all the way to Brooklyn Bridge - that was very surreal moment driving on empty streets/highway at the time of late morning or early noon rush hour traffic. Then it was one huge scary mess. cell phones didn't work, lots and lots of people walking in panic from Manhattan, traffic standing still. Everyone trying to get in touch with their close once...

Your country invaded another country and thousands of completely innocent people have died as a direct result of this event and you think that knowing the date is a useless fact ????

This is just an example of course...also do you realize NY is the most diverse city in America? With the newest citizens from other countries? with an average stay of less than 5 years on the soil?
