Fuck Virgin Media and Google

I get this email from them. I bet this has something to do with googles Buzz .. I dont want their shit. Im am hppy with the email I have now

Hello,

At Virgin Media, we're always looking for ways to give you the best you can get from your broadband connection. Among other things, that means keeping you in the loop with our brand new Virgin Media Mail.

Virgin Media Mail is a new upgrade to your existing ntlworld.com email account, provided by Google, so it comes packed with great extras that we know you're going to love. We'll move your current ntlworld.com email account over the next few weeks, and then send you a welcome email to tell you when it's all done.

Your existing ntlworld.com email address will still work, and we're not planning to change it. We'll also make sure that your emails and messages stay safe and sound, and are transferred over to your new account. However, for security reasons, certain file formats are not allowed as attachments in our new mail service, as they are very often used to distribute viruses or other malicious software. You should back up your attachments as they may not be moved to the new service. Common attachments such as pictures and Word documents will be moved, but executable files (such as files ending in '.exe') will not be moved. You can find more detailed information on our help site.

You still have an NTLWorld account? I thought they had phased out anything and everything to do with NTL years back? Also, use your own domain as an email address then you can take it with you no matter who you use for internet access.

it is a very sad day today

Yeah I do when Virgin bought NTL they left the email address like that. I am seriuosly thinking of jacking virgin media in now and using BT.

I have so many accounts tied in with my current email its gonna be a pain to change them all

I wish NTL were still around :(

We were with Videotron before it became NTL and then NTL became Virgin Media. Luckily, we have kept the same phone number all through that.

Wow I remember videotron :) I like Virgin Media because of their speeds are pretty good and they very seldom go offline. But thier billing is all stuffed up It was on watchdog on TV and yes we had the same problems with them it took us about 2 months to sort it out.

Now they want to change the emails that I really dont like. They should at least give the users the option.

I use BT business broadband and they are actually pretty good. In the five or so years I have had them they have gone down maybe four times and all of them were because of vandals in our area. They had us back up in a day which consider one of those was a nasty fire is worth the money.

That is one of the reasons that I decided, years ago, to just register a domain (halfpint.com) and use it for email. That way I never have to worry about changing email addresses again. I can simply forward it as I need to.

Whether changing ISP's or if there are buy outs. It really is a hassle otherwise.
