Weapons of Mass Destruction
 

I was reading heavy into the subject of weapons of mass destruction, Russia hold the record for largest detenation which was 7000x as powerfull as the ones we dropped on Japan. Russia also had the plans to create the DoomsDay device which was a hydrogen bomb large enough to kill all living things on the globe. We started the cold war making them bigger and bigger but ounce the ICBM was created the size didnt matter no more. The ICBM technology gives the power of global warfare. We live in a world where oceans dont protect us anymore.

what would be the point of a doomsday device? if russia was to lose a war they kill everyone?

There are so many potential threats in the world now from diiferent sources it makes me loopy thinking about the future too much.

I don't know how serious the Soviet Union was in there research of the "Doomsday Device", but the purpose would be the ultimate deterrant for anyone that would ever consider attacking them. MAD (Mutual Assured Destruction) became the reality, which was just as good a policy as the "Doomsday Device" would have been.

When you read stuff like that, you have to keep in mind it might be propaganda - If you dont have a enemy, you cant get tax money to your army

The enemy is anyone capable of, or thinking to obtain the power to pose a threat such as the ones I mentioned. Its like a game of chess you dont wait until your in check mate to make a move you think ahead.

no - correct - but there is a long way from "researching" on a subject, to actually thinking about using the.
again, be carefull about what you read about the cold war, most of it is politics and mindgames used to manipulate the enemy, and the people.

Simple math just take a bomb you tested and make it alot bigger.

Very true. For what the US spent fighting in Vietnam they could have bought the whole country three times over. But then none of the money would have gone to the arms industry who could not have given it back to the politicians.
