SEC staffers watched porn as economy crashed
from yahoo news
"Senior staffers at the Securities and Exchange Commission spent hours surfing pornographic websites on government-issued computers while they were being paid to police the financial system, an agency watchdog says." Alrighty then, yet another article that somehow manages to lay the blame on porn, i mean the title is a hint:1orglaugh |
You can always count on porn to be the scape goat.
:disgust |
Always view your logs. I always see interesting things. :)

Heh, there's no shortage of interesting news out there, especially more about the "evils" or implied evils of porn nowadays. With alot of these stories I sometimes get that paranoid feeling that they are gearing up for another Salem witch trial soon.

Were they watching stolen content on tube sites?

(ala Captain Kirk) "BRAZZERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

Anyon else subscribe to the theory that the rise of internet has been a catalyst for a huge decline in productivity?

More Today-
GOP ramps up attacks on SEC over porn surfing "WASHINGTON ? Republicans are stepping up their criticism of the Securities and Exchange Commission following reports that senior agency staffers spent hours surfing pornographic websites on government-issued computers while they were supposed to be policing the nation's financial system." |

I don't see it as porn being blamed for anything here.
http://www.cnn.com/2010/POLITICS/04/...orn/index.html They could have been surfing political blogs or downloading LOL Catz images - point is, they weren't doing their jobs. I mean, eight hours a day? Or 1800 visits in a two week period?? I *hope* they were customers (and if they were they were probably ripping off the site/s). But the fact that it was porn makes the whole metaphor more gripping (pun intended) - instead of policing the financial sector, "SEC officials were preoccupied with other distractions." The government was basically jerking off while Rome was burning... :D |

Republicans, in general, may dislike him more than Democrats do, because of his wasteful spending. Though it'll be a decade or more before we know for sure what the end result will be in the middle east, I think everyone agrees we went in prematurely, without a clearly defined objective and end game. For that, liberals and conservatives alike are unhappy with Bush. Conservatives have the additional reason to dislike him because he spent like a drunken Ted Kennedy, and we hate government wasting our hard earned money. We hate it when Bush does it, and we hate it when the SEC does it. PS - yes, I realize that "drunken Ted Kennedy" is redundant. |
