How do you save a streaming video from Real Player?
is there a way to save a streaming video from Real Player? anyone know?
|
Streaming real player files usually have the extension .rm, but they are just pointers to the location of the real movie file.
I think if you save the .rm file and change it to .txt and read it, you'll be able to see the url location of the actual video file .ram. Then you can make a mock page in frontpage with the link to the .ram and right click save-as. if the webmaster do anything more complicated than that...then i don't know. but then again...what the fuck do i know... :smokin |

In theory, there is no reason why somebody could not hack the protocol, collect all the bytes, and save it (maybe by just hacking the window at runtime) but in practice I haven't seen it made available. A lot of people, though when they say "streaming media" just mean a .rm or .ram file, which is not streaming media at all - in that case you just right-click and save. |

the .ram file is meta file that points to the movie and allows it to stream.
The.rm file is the movie If you open and read the metafile it will tell you the url of the movie. |
