Why the hell get one if you dont answer it?

I got a new phone after years of resisting and I still just don't really want to talk to anyone. hehe ooops

They just don't want to talk to you.

I have it for MY convenience, not yours.

For when I need it on the road, or on the shitter.

I get shit about that all the time. It rings and my wife is like "you gonna get that?" I just snicker and go on about my business. I'll call whoever called me back when and if I feel like it.

Trust me:

You don't want me to pick up if I'm gruntin' out a dirt snake. You want me to call back.

I almost never answer mine either.
And I don't have voice mail or texting, so they're always shit out of luck.

That's exactly what I tell people and I include that if they want me to pickup every time they call, they need to pay the bill and I'll be happy to do that... :pimp

I used 45 minutes on my cell phone last month. I will respond to a voicemail, but no one ever leaves them.

I sent/rec'd almost 1200 text messages, which is still probably low compared to some people.

I have 13,090 rollover minutes. maybe I should answer it once in a while.

I rarely answer mine, if someone wants something worthwhile they will leave a message...

I'd rather someone text me what they need and most people who have need to contact me via phone know this.

Most of my friends are trained to send me IM/EMAIL if they really want a prompt answer. The lone exception would be when I am actually meeting them. So if I am en route to the golf course, casino, meeting them. Then I may answer.

In regards to my office line, I have a message saying if you do not tell me specifically what you are calling for, then do not expect a return phone call.

I did answer call sometimes. all my friends know that i dont bother to answer calls when im at work, so no one calling me often.

I almost never use the phone anymore. It just takes too much time. I haven't even checked my voicemail in over a year. I leave it full so people hang up and send a text instead.

I'm pretty much all text messages at this point.

Are usually really successful who dont need to worry about missing calls... and are so successful they know the person will ring them back or contact them another way...

Lol I've tried to understand the whole text message vs phone call thing before. I think people just know the person calling them wants a favor or some shit and they figure if they get a text then they can see what they want and decide if they should answer instead of having to deal with it on the spot when you're talking on the phone.

I don't have a cell phone... I talk enough on my voip, a cell phone is an over kill.

i never answer when the number is hidden, when i only see a number...you might get lucky...when you are on my list...i must feel like it

I know a chick who can type on her blackberry without looking at her hands, and she can hold like 2-3 conversations at once. LOL

she's friggin crazy and spends too much time socializing, but some people would freak out of they saw how good she is at it. :1orglaugh

In the UK, as you know, if I call you, I pay the bill... You call me, you pay the bill

In the USA it doesn't matter who calls who... Each person is being charged at the same time, regardless of who initiated the call...

Just checked my phone, 1200 minutes last month
Approx 950 of that was business calls, $$$

I feel like I pay a cell phone bill to make and take calls at my convenience not for someone else's convenience to reach me any time. If it is not convenient to take a call, I won't. It's nothing personal, I just may not be able to have certain conversations at certain times around certain people. Everyone I talk to knows if it's something serious and i don't answer, call back or text me and ill excuse myself from what i'm doing at the moment and pick up the phone.

I hate when people talk on their phone about anything anywhere. I'm shocked what i hear in public from people not caring who is around them when they loudly take a call that clearly should have been a bit more personal.

I'd MUCH rather send a few texts instead of being on the phone for 30-45 minutes going on about nothing. I hate talking on the phone for the most part. And I only check voicemails to clear that stupid icon off my screen.

There are also some people I chose not to answer for, yet they continue to call. Not creditors either, it's 'friends'

I should probably just use text messages. But then I fear I might start ignoring those too. uhoh haha

I always answer my phone, unless i'm hungover or asleep.

Text messages are fucking annoying, short convo is quicker than sending 20 text messages.

I tend to not answer if I don't know the number or just don't wanna talk. If it's important they can leave a message.

On another note, I can't stand when someone calls like 10 times in a row and doesn't leave a message. That's annoying.
