Verotel and chargebacks.
I have been using Verotel as my 3rd party processor for my amateur site since April/02. I also implemented an affiliate program and over the past few months sales have been increasing - especially through my affiliates.
However last Monday I received notice of 16 chargebacks. This has totally freaked me out. I checked out my stats and noticed they all came from the same affiliate (who's since been suspended by Verotel). I emailed Verotel to see what's up with this but have yet to hear back. So my questionn - Are chargebacks high at Verotel. What's their record on fraud screening. Should I change processors? I've been thinking about globill. |
Change processers, your suspended affiliate probably signed up for accounts with his affiliate ID using other peoples credit cards.

yeah that's what I thought - and I noticed a totall of 3 of my affiliates have been suspended - I guess this happen a lot.
What are other peoples experience with this - do a lot of affiliates cheat like this with other payment processors? |

I used Verotel on an old site and they do not check for signups from multiple IP addresses, they are quite lax on it. I always checked my signups by hand and if I noticed a duplicate, like two sign ups from the same name, I would email Verotel support.
Ibill might be better. |
Verotel now allows you to issue refunds from the control panel -- I'll watch my signups more closely now and refund any suspicious transactions.
