Don't deposting your WebmasterChecks - BUSTED by us dept of justice??

Holy crap:
Quote:

Hey everyone,

For anyone who receives their payouts in check/cheque, we would request that you do not try to deposit them. There appears to be an issue with WebmasterChecks and the US Dept of Justice. If you want faster payment, please send us your check/cheques and we will gladly send out hand written checks and or epassporte payments to all affiliates who cannot deposit their payments. We will certainly cover the fee for epassporte or any returned checks/cheques.

We apologize for any inconvenience and appreciate your patience in this matter.

Regards,
Minnie

It sure is bad when you can't deposit a cheque. A cheque that can't be deposited - what a bad feeling.

BestXXXPorn 04-21-2010 12:19 PM

AND THAT is how you handle a problem with your payments...

Hats off to you Twistys...

Fuck off with your inane drivel!

Your sig doesn't conform to the rules either.

If you want sig money in the future it would porbably be better not to get it banned!

v4 media 04-21-2010 12:35 PM

Large amounts of money coming into the country and all going out in checks to different people..

The same as what brazzers got their millions seized for.

RaiderCash_Dominik 04-21-2010 12:37 PM

Whats going on people. Why the fuck is Justice Department involved here?

I have a feeling* its going to be ALOT bigger than Twistys and they aren't the root of it... :winkwink:

Why 04-21-2010 12:38 PM

i find this pretty amusing... only because we were discussing the brazzers case the other day and i pointed out that webmasterchecks does the same thing and violates the same laws.... people should know better after paypal got busted for same thing 5+ years ago.

Chosen 04-21-2010 12:38 PM

This is definitely ain't no good... :(

You should maybe buy a clue... :winkwink:

Mutt 04-21-2010 12:41 PM

damn, sounds like some programs are going to be out a lot of money. twistys can cover it, others will have a tougher time.

webmaster checks have any business dealing with casino and betting companies?

Nothing says class like pretty much destroying any hope WMC may have had for recovery by being a complete ass to your entire affiliate list.

This is a bad situation man. You can never go wrong with full disclosure.

Twistys learns of the problem and makes a statement to all their affiliates saying not to worry; they'll make sure you get paid and provide information on how to get a new check issued...

Forgive my ignorance here but how does this make an ass of their entire affiliate list?

No worries. I actually do need to get some clues. I'm running low. Thanks for the reminder.

jimmy-3-way 04-21-2010 01:13 PM

For the record I called this a year and a half ago.

You're welcome.

RP Fade 04-21-2010 01:15 PM

We deposited some checks earlier this month and have not heard from the bank or our accountant so im not sure if this affects only all new checks or recent checks within the last 1-2 weeks?

Twisty's affiliate manager makes an assertion and makes a statement which is likely to rile up their already-wearing-tinfoil-hat affiliates who, in turn, lose faith in a company that has done nothing wrong but obviously somehow get involved with another one's payments.

By this, I'm stating that they're intentionally throwing Chrissy in the fire for this but hey, they'll make good on the checks. I don't think is good practice.

It doesn't make an ass of the affiliates; it makes an ass to the entire affiliates list. It was a dick move; I feel it was done very poorly, and I say that as a person who stares at tranny dicks for a living.

gleem 04-21-2010 01:32 PM

Imagine if the DOJ just took all the money in their accounts for good (I'm sure they froze em already). That means sponsors payments to Webmasterchecks are basically gone for a couple pay periods. How many sponsors can afford that and still payout the affiliates?

BradM 04-21-2010 01:35 PM

does it have anything to do with WMC sending payments out for brazzers?

BestXXXPorn 04-21-2010 01:35 PM

I'm not sure that stating the facts and providing an alternate payment vehicle for "faster payment" qualifies as intentionally throwing WMC under the bus. I see this as taking care of their affiliates.

If they were to say nothing about it they would run the risk of damaging their own reputation as a sponsor. I would be upset with a sponsor if they didn't take some course of action to rectify an issue with being paid... I guess I'm at a loss as to how it could have been handled more diplomatically?

I'm not trying to be an ass here, just discern exactly what, in your eyes, would have been the correct way to handle it. I'm always interested in hearing additional ways to tactfully handle any bad situation without pissing off anyone involved ;)

RaiderCash_Dominik 04-21-2010 01:37 PM

Are they part of CCBill crew? i know they work out of Arizona as well.

Taking care of the affiliates would have required merely stating there was an issue with their processor; instead we have this shitfest all over the front page of the same goddamn email.

They've offered to recut checks if you send the old ones back. Anyone can do that, and it's swell they opted to do so - but they didn't need to create this shitfest.

It appears that this may have all been a momentary thing caused because of the payments for Brazzers; as heavily relied upon as WMC is for processing, this is going to scare more affiliates away from programs who do/have used them, and has done nothing to decrease the noise:signal ratio.

I honestly feel sending the message as a primary 'issue with processing' without making the statement regarding the reasoning why would be fine for an initial contact. My guess is this will likely be (partially) resolved by the end of the week - but that this whole thing has crushed WMC, and they'll never be able to recover from it.

Before someone climbs up my ass, I'm not saying 'affiliates don't need to know', I'm saying 'fix it and contend with it', without making the affiliate an unwitting party to what has nothing to do with them.

They were working on getting their system integrated with CCBill but I think that's as far as it goes.

hypedough 04-21-2010 02:05 PM

Can we get an official statement from WMC on this? We just switched to NATS but haven't made any payments through them, they need to make things to clear to both affiliates and program owners as a whole.

Agent 488 04-21-2010 02:09 PM

hope the programs that use them clarify what is going on soon.

V_RocKs 04-21-2010 02:12 PM

Crazy shit...

V_RocKs 04-21-2010 02:14 PM

If CCBILL had operating relations with WMC, meaning they were owned by the same people, they'd be using their service. They don't.
