Avatar re-release: with 6 more mins
Avatar will be re-released this summer with an additional six minutes of footage, its director James Cameron has said in a newspaper interview.
"We were sold out of our Imax performances right up to the moment until they were contractually obligated to switch to Alice in Wonderland. "So we know we left money on the table there," Cameron told the LA Times. Cameron also said the Avatar sequel will be centred on the ocean on the planet Pandora. The ocean would be as "equally rich and diverse and crazy and imaginative," he said. The award-winning filmmaker claimed the release of Alice in Wonderland and Clash of the Titans in 3D, so soon after Avatar came out, meant there were not enough cinemas available to give Avatar a proper run. By the time the film is re-released, it will also be out on DVD but Cameron believe those who have already seen Avatar at home will still want the big screen experience. Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland had record opening takings for a 3D movie when it was released in March. Avatar became the fastest movie ever to achieve $1bn (£625.6m) in ticket sales around the world earlier this year. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/entertainment/8634216.stm |
Its a good movie but damn.

Good news :thumbsup
|
Awesome, I waited to go see it in IMAX and then I wanted to see it again, but the fucker was gone already.
|
I'm sorry but I slept through the whole IMAX experience. The movie was boring. Remember those children's lenticular-like picture books in the Eighties? The movie is just like it in IMAX 3D only moving.

Thats some serious greed but oh well.

He'd be aswell just saying they are gonna try and get as much money out the damn thing as possible. At least then we know he's being honest... |

Kinda looks like he did say that. Did you miss that part? |

madness, such a stupid movie
|
That's awesome news

Still have not seen it.
Still trying to decide if a) it's worth $3 bucks to rent, and b) if I will be able to sit through it. |
6 more minutes of footage. It's always interesting to watch new footage and scenes. James Cameron was also involved in production of popular movies such as Terminator I and Terminator II. I watched the Avatar movie in the movie theater, and it sure has some nice special effects.
The pornographic version of the blue creature from Avatar was made by some porno people. That was fun to watch, too. They even attached a tail to the blue woman. People think of avatars, maybe they even think about avatars on GFY. This Avatar movie sure made some interesting thoughts come into my head, like people trying to destroy a fast spreading virus. A female warrior of some kind helps the blue man creature. Different kinds and types of animal species fight amongst themselves. There is a film in development right now by James Cameron called The Last Train from Hiroshima: The Survivors Look Back and Nagasaki Deadline. This sounds interesting. Terminator 5 is also in development. |
Stop already.

wow, 6 whole new minutes...oh goodie!
The thing is still up&running in cinemas and yeah, it was an awesome movie but they're getting ridiculous with milking it. Will we be seeing blue all over for a few years now what with the sequels and all? pfft |
So many fucking retards will fork ut the cahs for that extra six minutes of crap that was cut from an already stupid long movie. if i watched that version, i wouldn't be able to even tell you what 6 minutes weren't in the original.
