I can't wait for the day for webpages to become more standard...

I am waiting for the day when Obama makes it law that commerce and business webpages must follow templates for webpages that work and function like they should.

If your an auto dealer , you use a proven webpage that works for an auto dealer. click here to find whats available , click here to see our hours

If your a hair dresser , you use a hair dresser webpage, put in your logo/pictures/info and that's it.

If you want to order a pizza , you find your pizza store and it's the exact same webpage as the other pizza store accross the street ( different logo) , but you know what to do to order a pizza off of that webpage because it's the same .

I'm going to go out on a limb here but I would safely say that 95% of webpages for companies out there , would work better , be more up to date and would give the end user a better experience if they just were a facebook fan page. Something simple that the owner of the company can update, interact with clients , share photos/videos , etc

I can't stand webpages that even I can't even figure out with a extensive graphic design background. I seriously just sit back and wonder if the owners of some of these companies are having a secret affair with a retarded flash designer and is afraid to get a webpage that actually functions.

Buying clothes off the internet should be as simple as dialing a phone, You don't have to drag boxes , watch a bunch of shit flash around and click/hold this to flip a page to get to the next number when you dial a number on a phone , why do they have to make buying clothes and other shit so complicated.

Prime Examples of companies that suck.

Diesel Clothing http://store.diesel.com/home/tskay/3FD17CD7/ini/1

Amen to the premise. Chuckle for the Obama remark.

They won't have demanded an over-complicated or incomprehensible site. Quite often if it is a website for an actual real shop they will have just been 'sold' it by someone who's business is Websites for Small Businesses Who Know Nothing About The Internet rather than having any real understanding of how a site needs to be.

I'm working on this ;)

don't worry if that ever happens all your pizzas will be made by the same template recipe, so you wont have to figure out which topping you want on it or better yet just standardized meals breakfast, lunch and dinner so you wont even have to think about what pizza and what topping you want on it. everything will be decided for you.

The flash, slowness and complexity of the website/shopping cart has stopped me from buying many times.

Flash sites are probably the biggest exit for me, unless the stupidest/simplest interface comes up and it loads before I can click back, so rather fast - I hate flash shopping cart sites.

This is the dumbest shit I've ever heard...

"I can't wait until all the creativity and possibilities are made illegal! and all progression stops! It'll be awesome because I can buy a pair of jeans faster, YEAH!"

Yeah there's a lot of crappy sites out there ... but at the same time such a law would force down the best and the brightest. The world of web-design would stagnate and innovation would become impossible. In essence you would be subordinating everyone, including the best, to the level of mediocrity.

With the good comes the bad. The good news is that those crappy sites hurt themselves in the long run while the best get the business.
