Aaaah! Why are banners so dam $$$ ??

I like the idea of a consumer that is clicking on our banner, but come on! It's like sooo dam expensive!!

For about $ 3.50 I can get 1000 skimmed clicks, but for $ 50 I can get a banner for a month that brings in about 20 hits a day.

Any solutions out there? any advice? Anybody got any cheap banner space for sale....? ( I know, wrong section)

How can sponsors advertise w/banners with such high prices?

Banner trades rather than paying for clicks? Gallery listings on Thehun?

We have 3 listings accepted for the next few days.

Knowing how and where to buy ad space is a skill. Who cares how much the traffic costs? How much is the traffic EARNING? How many sales are you getting from the skimmed traffic and how many sales are you getting from the banner? How is the traffic interacting with your tour? Are you doing other things with the traffic you buy to retain a visitor even if they don't join right then?

Traffic varies MASSIVELY in both cost and value and generally there's a good reason for the variations. It takes trial and error to figure it out.

do you test your banners, or do you just make one set of banners and expect the clicks to come in? should be split testing your banners against one another and working out those with low ctr. just throwing a banner into a good spot doesn't mean anyone is going to click it. tends to be why i lean towards paying per click as opposed to outright buying spots or going on a cpm basis. if you get your banners tweaked out nicely though, and are pulling a good ctr, you can actually save money by going on cpm or prepaid spots. i'd say start switching your banners up, or look at going to a ppc model instead...

$50 for 20 clicks a day isn't even that bad, works out to what 8 or 9 cents a click? I don't see an issue with that cost, for clicked traffic...

One thing is for sure, more people put more time into their banners than their sites and you can convert sites without a single banner. It seems like banners are some obligation or something.
