hmmmmmmm......... i have a feeling most are just letting it happen, taking the position 'a sale is a sale and better than no sale'. Desperation maybe, like the designers out there doing paysites for $300, programmers working for $10 an hour.

not good. nope. i think 'hosted gallery content' is worth more than the .20 to .40 cents a pic licensed images are being sold for.

but not much you can do when the marketplace speaks.

Bullshit. My non-exclusive pics sell for .75 each and there is no way in hell that I would allow somebody to saturate the web with my stuff for that price. A one time sell is not worth it if that sale makes your content worthless.

It is supply and demand and by allowing your sets to go out on hosted galleries you are removing the demand. Any serious content provider knows this.

I dont let it happen. My original license didnt specifically exclude it but had a general provision that prohibited allowing other webmasters to use it - this proved to be ambiguous so it has now been fixed.

Problem is finding it half the time.

Obviously exclusive content is fine, which is all I am shooting these days anyway.

as for 'serious content providers', i think if you go look and see whose content is being used on many hosted gallery setups you'll see they are serious content providers.

Hosted movie galleries popping up all over now too.

And the were most likely sold as exclusive. Not all...but must do it this way.

From a webmasters point of view it makes sense but from a content providers point of view, it is stupid. I do not need the money bad enough to allow that to happen. If I wanted my shit flooded all over the TGP's then I would lower my prices and sell more of it. I prefer to shoot for exclusive clients....my site sales are not important but keeping the models unsaturated is.
