He's a stoner too.

Mutt 04-18-2010 12:39 PM

oh damn, he's actually popular in the US and around the world i see.

didn't Harry Connick already do this modern day Frank Sinatra act about 20 years ago.

seeandsee 04-18-2010 12:40 PM

desperate buble

Bman 04-18-2010 12:40 PM

He's been around forever. Use to play little clubs in Vancouver in the early 90"s.
He's got a lot of big music people in his corner...

Spunky 04-18-2010 01:08 PM

Another good Canadian kid from Vancouver

Cut him some slack Mutt, damn....
What the fuck is wrong with Sinatra / Martin style crooner-ish music? I love that stuff.
Broaden your fucking horizons a smidge... jesus fuck.

Everything does not have to be a fucking Motorhead concert. There are all flavors of music out there. Unless you're 20 something and define yourself by the level of angryness in music.

The dude is making barrels of cash with his voice for fuck's sake. If ANY one of us on this board could be standing in his shoes, we would. I would leave my studio in 2 seconds flat, and never look back if I could do what he's doing. :2 cents:

and although he looks as gay as a handbag full of rainbows, he's supposed to be fucking this (she's a very famous Argentinian celeb)

the flip side on this story is that she has always said she's a virgin and preserving for marriage (and as incredible as it sounds based on these pics, she spends the days in church) :1orglaugh

He's quite popular in the Philippines as well. There will always be a market for that genre of music. He's just the latest guy to get big in that niche.

Calico Jack 04-18-2010 02:04 PM

He's hugely popular here in Australia. What that says about us I'm not really sure though.

I love Sinatra and all that music from that era - i think it's kind of cheesey though watching young guys doing bad imitations of Frank. well actually Connick is talented.

QFT. The "When Harry Met Sally" soundtrack definitely gave him a boost.

Well, I gotta side with you on that at least partially... Frank was the fuggin' Masta. Everything after him is an imitation.

I've got to give the guy credit for this.

At one of his gigs in the UK a few years ago he was talking to the audience a couple of songs in.

Thanked everyone for coming to his show and recognised the fact that a lot of the guys were only there because they got dragged along buy their wives/girlfriends.

I'm paraphrasing here but it was something like this

"I see a lot of guys in the audience tonight. Thank you. I know why you are here though, thank you for that. I know you are sitting there saying to yourself 'Wanker!!!' Right?"

lazycash 04-18-2010 03:10 PM

He's just more mainstream now, but he's been around for a long time.

GatorB 04-18-2010 06:20 PM

I guess it proves anyone writting any kind of crap can have a hit.

I have doubts that Michael Buble wrote that song.
He's the talent... not the writer.

raven1083 04-18-2010 06:30 PM

he is pretty well known here in our country...
