Did Jesus of Nazareth Ever Exist?
I have been running into a lot of atheist lately and they are all convinced that Jesus is made up story.
They told me to watch the Zeitgeist to better understand. I haven't had time to watch the movie but I am pretty sure that Jesus was a historical figure. Anyway, God Bless You and Praise Jesus! |
More and more evidence shows there was indeed a man named Jesus. No more evidence, however, has surfaced to suggest he was the son of God.
|
I think of him like the Tommy DeVitto character in "Goodfellas". He didn't really exist but was a composite character made from several other guys. Jesus is someone they made up years later to base the entire "Christianity" story around. They needed a guy with a compelling story to sell the whole thing and so, voila, Jesus was born. And wait until you hear his backstory (manger, virgin birth, etc).

yes ..............

In the book of Jew fables.
Yes. |
I know Jesus, he's a cool cat. Sells the dank buds...

Jesus appears in non-Christian literature more than once. The problem is in trying to authenticate these texts, as they're always copies made of copies made of copies.
Some interesting reading here if you really care: http://www.infidels.org/library/mode...er/hojfaq.html |
we don't have to go far to see people like to make up lots of stuff, rumors, dramas, assumptions, stereotyping, other bs with agenda or just for fun.. all of it here on gfy. think past then people were different? bible has much validity as matrix movie.

It's pretty hard to prove that somebody did not live. As mentioned, there are trickles of evidence here and there suggesting that there was a real man. Completely denying the possibility just doesn't make sense to me. I still believe in the tooth fairy! |
Better question: Did Mohammed really exist?

I think Peter Joseph makes a good case, although my christian friends think he's the devil. Watch the movie for yourself here |

Yes. I am also aware that people who want to make something out of nothing will take the word, "Jew" and it's use in any sentence, to conjure and twist it into some form of bigotry, hatred or racism to advance their own agenda. Let me know how that history lesson goes on the origins of the Bible.... :2 cents: |
Jesus is alive and has been for ages. Jesus keeps coming back through out history....
2012 will be Jesus' return Praise Jesus or go burn in hell forever! ================================================= Some parallels between Horus and Jesus Christ: 1. Horus born of a virgin. <> Jesus born of a virgin. 2. The foster father of Horus was Seb or Seph. <> Jesus was fostered by Joseph. 3. Horus was of royal descent. <> Jesus was of royal descent. 4. Horus birth accompanied by three solar deities [star gazers] who followed by the morning star of Sirius bearing gifts. <> Jesus birth accompanied by three wise men [Zoroastrian star gazers] who followed by a star ?in the east? bearing gifts. 5. The birth of Horus announced by angels. <> The birth of Jesus announced by angels. 6. Herut tried to murder the infant Horus. <> Herod slaughtered every first born in an attempt to kill Jesus the forthcoming messiah. 7. Horus is baptized at age 30 by Anup the Baptiser at a river. <> Jesus is baptized at age 30 by John the Baptist at a river. 8. Horus resists temptation by the evil Sut [Sut was to be the precursor for the Hebrew Satan] on a high mountain. <> Jesus resists temptation by Satan on a high mountain. 9. Horus had 12 followers. <> Jesus had 12 disciples. 10. Horus performed miracles like healing the sick and walking on water. <> Jesus performed miracles like healing the sick and walking on water. 11. Horus raised someone from the grave [his father Osiris] <> Jesus raised Lazarus [notice the name similarity] from the grave. Lazarus is short for Elasarus - the ?us? on the end is romanized. Elasarus was derived from ?El-Asar? which was the name given to Osiris. 12. Horus was buried and resurrected in the city of Anu. <> The place Bethany mentioned in John was a derivative of the words ?Bet? and ?Anu? which translates ?the house of Anu?. The ?y? on the end of bethany is interchangeable with the letter ?u?. 13. Horus was killed by crucifixtion. <> Jesus was crucified. 14. Horus was accompanied by two thieves at the crucifixtion. <> Jesus was crucified with two thieves. 15. Horus was buried in a tomb at Anu. <> Jesus was buried in a tomb located in Bethany [Bet-Anu]. 16. Horus was resurrected after 3 days. <> Jesus was ?said? to resurrected after over a period of three days. 17. The resurrection of Horus was announced by three women. <> The resurrection of Jesus was announced by three women. 18. Horus was given the titel KRST which means ?anointed one? <> Jesus was given the title Christ [Christos] meaning ?anointed one? |
Not sure if jesus of nazereth ever lived but jesus of tijuana once worked for me and performed miracles. He turned wine into urine and urinated in my garden. He walked on my watery deck and slipped, he fed all his friends on 1 pack of hotdogs that had been in my fridge for like 6 months. He healed the sick by giving them all more beer and they felt fine. Then one day some mean men came and took him away and persecuted him for his beliefs ( i think he believed he wasn't mexican )

I am by no means a christian or religious person but I am curious if you have verified all of these claims or just copied them from a site and took their word as fact? |

I tried watching it when it first hit the internet a few years ago and could not make it too far in, it really insists upon itself and frankly was quite boring. I'm a skeptic, to both sides of this debate, organized religion is a sham IMO but that does not mean I'm going to believe everything in a video whose main distribution outlet is youtube. Hence the reason I asked if he did any investigation to his cut and paste or just took the words posted on the internet as truth. |

doesn't matter oen damn bit what the medium is... |
zeitgeist is nice, I enjoyed it but it seems to fast and loose with most of its facts
There seem to be many atheist/agnostic sites that are debunking it Also, it appears the guy used new age religious sources for his Jesus vs Egypt gods comparison |
there: http://webskeptic.wikidot.com/zeitgeist-story-of-jesus
it's full of info from a variety of sites, doesn't make Zeitgeist or whoever made it seem credible at all |

This was put out by the roman government. I guess its like obama having a meeting then coming out and saying everyone's new religion is muslim, and here is the list of things you believe now. If you have faith in the new testament and that its message is there to empower you, then you're also having faith that the roman empire actually had its people's best interest in mind. Alex Jones is a zeitgeist hater, yet all he does is talk about how corrupt governments and politicians are. Somehow the fact that the new testament was put together by one of the most brutal gov's ever, doesn't seem to register. This is how powerful Christianity is. I don't care either way, but the zeitgeist story is much more believable if you ask me. |

I never said that did I? I'm not really knocking it either although the parts I did see I found trite and boring. The point I was trying to draw out was, you have a camp of individuals who have no problem questioning a story that has been passed down for 2000 plus years but take a video posted on the internet by a no one at face value. It just seems, rather off to me |
god will punish

This is true and christians will always respond that while it was put together by man they were under the influence of god or something similar. Then if you continue to question them they have their tried and true fallback answer, faith .... what a load of shit |

The Sun is born again every year on December 25. Winter Solstice.. Talking to the burning bush and the guy who walks on water were stories from mushroom trips.. And Santa was a drug dealer (medicine man).. I'm sure there was a guy named Jesus in a place called Nazareth.. ALL of the bible and every other religious book is a made up story based on ancient mythology..

belief in God is taken as absolute truth from and by same religious crowd that were pushing belief that sun rotated around earth, and they claimed they knew everything about heavens. did God forget to tell them earth was rotating around sun? did Jesus tell them to start witch hunts and burning massacres?
power, control, brainwash, repeat rinse and collect money on sundays because Jesus is in heavens and no one can make instant wine out of water anymore, but there is mighty God somewhere and if you do wrong, think wrong, look wrong, you'll end up in hell. and no you can never doubt anything holy because what bible says is an absolute truth! |
Being to shy to meet a woman is not a sin. Good luck, Jesus style.

just watched it, i think its the most profound outlook and explanation on roots of religion, at least it has sound of rational reason. although i predict it won't be popularly accepted, people won't give up their long life settled belief systems realizing Jesus is a symbolic icon of a hallucinogenic mushroom ) |
