Limbaugh: Volcanic eruption in Iceland is God?s reaction to health care?s passage.

should have activated Mt-Helen instead .. GOD seems weak in geography ...

Quote:

Yesterday, hate radio host Rush Limbaugh talked about the volcanic eruption that?s affecting air travel over much of Europe, saying it was ?God speaking? in response to the passage of health care:

You know, a couple of days after the health care bill had been signed into law Obama ran around all over the country saying, ?Hey, you know, I?m looking around. The earth hadn?t opened up. There?s no Armageddon out there. The birds are still chirping.? I think the earth has opened up. God may have replied. This volcano in Iceland has grounded more airplanes ? airspace has more affected ? than even after 9/11 because of this plume, because of this ash cloud over Northern and Western Europe. At the Paris airport they?re telling people to head to the train station to catch trains out of France, and when people get to the train station they?re telling people, ?There aren?t any seats until at least April 22nd,? basically a week from now. It?s got everybody in a shutdown. Earth has opened up. I don?t know whether it?s a rebirth or Armageddon. Hopefully it?s a rebirth, God speaking

I'm pretty sure Limbaugh was joking. I've listened to his program many times, he's a great entertainer. But not really a religious person at all. He's more of a fiscal conservative kinda guy. He does a catchphrase that says "Talent on loan from GOD"

But if you heard him say it you would understand that it's a joke. A lot of people may call him "Hate" radio, but in all honesty I never listened to his show and heard "hate" speech at all. And he's definitely not a holy roller.

He's just a really good entertainer who makes a lot of money by being controversial.

it's gotta be rough being rush- never being able to turn off the act.

I think any entertainer who turns it off in the public eye is dumb. Think about the most sucessful ones...they were always in character. You'd have never caught Frank Sinatra or John Wayne out of character. And I'm pretty sure you don't catch guys like Keith Richards out of character either.

Even political entertainers are the same. That's why it's kinda cool when they fuck up. It was kinda neat knowing that Limbaugh loves to get high. Or that O'Reilly is a sex perv...just like the rest of us. lol

But yeah, if you create a persona and you market it...you better stay in character in the public eye. Try to do the partying and fucking without getting caught.

it was just a jab back at the president for the jab he made against the GOP upon passing healthcare
Which also was taken too seriously

Both were in bad taste

Robbie 04-17-2010 05:25 PM

All these things are taken too seriously...by us civilians.

The politicians and "politcal commentators"? They don't believe any of it and know that they are all just talking shit, making money, gaining power.

In the end, they are all no different than anybody else. They are looking out for themselves and their families first and foremost. If something helps the country or other people as a byproduct then that's just gravy.

The world is and always has been about individuals. Do I believe that anyone in power in Washington really cares in their heart about whether or not I have good healthcare? Hell no! And I have no problem with that. It makes perfect sense to me. And if I were in office I'd be playing the same game to make sure that I and my loved ones are set for life.
