Selling Something on CL = LOL emails

Ive been trying to get rid of my 15" Macbook Pro that is about 2 years old, so I decided I would try and sell it on CL.

Besides the nonsense emails of "is item still for sale" and "I would love to give this to my daughter who is studying in Africa" I occasionally get what appears to be a real person... and here are two that I got some good laughs from...

Dummy #1

"Pasteur" from a local church. He emails me asking if I will accept a trade and I respond asking what kind of trade. His response (which was about 3 pages long): he wants me to give him the laptop and in return, I get a 100% tax deductible charity expense for the laptop.

:1orglaugh:1orglaugh

When I tell him no, but I do have an older sony desktop that I would be willing to donate if he really needed it, his response was "we need this type of Macbook for video editing software and do not want a desktop" which was followed by "this is what God would want you to do with it." :1orglaugh WOW! bible beaters are picky and greedy huh

Dummy #2

This guy emails me saying that he is low on cash but will write me a check that I can cash in a month when he gets his IRS refund check back. All I responded back to him was "no thanks" to which he responded saying "I promise I will get you the money, plus I have a way for you to get a brand new one for no cost, I swear!" He wanted me to call him because he is leaving to go out and will tell me the secrets.

So after he tries to bargain with me on the phone for 1/4 of what I'm asking for he tells me his secret way of getting the money. First he tells me he has done this a number of times and its safe, but what he wants me to do is bring the laptop with me to a restaurant, but leave it in my car and don't lock my doors. He will have a friend come and take it, then I call and report it stolen...

I STOP HIM RIGHT THERE... WOW! Insurance fraud? Holy fuck, what is wrong with these people. I told him to fuck off and hes lucky I dont report him to the police right now for this. He tells me I'm a thief and I'm calling him on a non traceable prepaid phone and if police come to his door, he will "come for me!" then hangs up

:1orglaugh:1orglaugh what has the world come to these days

I usually don't give those people the time of day. Why even reply?

Run an ad trying to hire someone... now that is comedy.
