Pre-emptive scammer warning - 643938005 may start posing as me soon on ICQ
I just got an email in from ICQ:
"Hi PornMD, Congratulations, your new ICQ account is 643938005. To complete the sign-up process and be able to sign in using your email address, click here." I have only ever in my lifetime had one ICQ # and it's in my sig. I have absolutely no reason to have another one, so if ANY other ICQ # posing as me contacts you, they are a scammer. Not to mention if I contact you, it would be about something specific you've posted on GFY whereas the one time a scammer was posing as me before, they were actively contacting a bunch people to try and sell domains. I don't do that whatsoever. Anyways, keep a look out. Dunno why the dumbass scammer decided to use my email address for the signup but whatever...hopefully that means they can't activate the account. |
Thanks for the heads up sire.

can't you do a password reset to your email, and change the password to lock the guy out?
|
Scammer entered your email address without permission. That sucks. Good luck, PornMD.

Thanks for the warning......

Make sure you enter the complete email address as it appears in your ICQ details. You may also try to enter a different email address that you previously entered in your ICQ details." Guess the person who created it can change the email addy after creating it? Cuz I either have to put in my email addy or answer the secret question they chose when they signed up. :( |
