Natural disasters on the rise... is 2012 true?
 

Is it the news media or have you noticed there seems to be a great deal of natural disasters going on??

Haiti Quake

Chile Quake

Mexico Quake

China Quake

India Cyclone

Seems like every 10 to 20 days a new big disaster is striking.

I wonder if the Mayans had it right?

and the tubes ...

Its just been in populated areas this year so it gets more press, the number of average quakes 7.0 or higher for the 1st 3 months of the year is 16-18 and there's been 17 this year, so a perfectly average year...:winkwink:

EXACTLY Wizzo.... I remember about 8 or 10 years ago the media focused on shark attacks and suddenly they were in the news all the time.... meanwhile there were no more attacks that year than in any average year.



Don't buy into the hype people.

If enough pople believe in it, then they will MAKE the end of the world come true.

gotta fill those 24 hour "news" channels somehow.

in 2012 many things could happen - for example

1: an evolution of consciousness/dna change

2: the complete end of the world "bang"

3: partial end of the world after an earth axis tilt 99.9% of humans dead

4: nothing unsual

its probably gonna be no4 but no1 would be the coolest :thumbsup

2012 is just the end of an age in the calendar not the end of the world

the chances of all the planets aligning, perfectly, are something in the trillions to one.. for that 'horror show' the movie talks about would have to include the moons of all the planets as well, and that would be theoretical and is kinda ridiculous

Why is it that people think the Mayans predicted the end of the world??

It is a known fact that while it was being worked on, they were involved in a war with another tribe.

The # of things going on are normal, it's just that they're more severe than usual.

Not to mention the "end of days" mindset is good for the economy.

People aren't saving money for a tomorrow that may never come!

The media sure covers a lot of natural disasters. Seems like a lot of them are happening.

Disaster happen anytime. but on 2012, lets hope it wont happen

When i was a kid, the end of "raiders of the lost ark" scared me shitless.

the end of the world? hmm i'll probably snore right through it.
I'd rather have aliens show up and harvest us like cattle. Something cool like that, like Diana from V swallowing cute white mice. Or the end of days, with huge 6-titted demon goats from hell feasting on penis. Give me something weird and outrageous, truly, truly, truly outrageous! JEM! In the meantime, i'll be dodging stray bullets in toronto.
