Twitter?s advertising model is no longer under wraps. The social-networking site?s ad plan, Promoted Tweets, launches today and will work a lot like Google?s AdWords. When users search Twitter for keywords and what people are talking about, Twitter will run ads that marketers have bought to run against the search. All of the twitter junkies are going to throw a hissy about this but not one of them understands the need to make money.
I remember the backlash when stumbleupon started paid stumbles. Donors could disable the paid stumbles but the free users couldn't. The free users bitched and moaned for months rather than just coughing up $20 to help out a service they spent lots of time on. |
Get people addicted, then mix the bad shit in with it to make teh moneys. Good business plan.
