Damn. Must be serious when even transvestites/trannies are protesting the corruption of the regime. lolz
On a serious note....
Anyway, the whole Thaksin drama in Thailand has many people in the Philippines uneasy. The parallels are eerie--billionaire politician who markets his politics to the poor majority, gets elected top leader, gets involved in shenanigans which are mere expansions of existing shit he's been doing, military steps in and topples him..... Endless drama ensues.
Sadly, it will be worse in the PI if the whole Villar saga goes the Thaksin route. There's no king here. So military junta as the "solution"? There's many Pinoys who sincerely believe a military dictatorship will be the right tonic for the country's perennial developmental problems. I am not as hopeful. To paraphrase Forrest Gump, dictators are like a box of chocolates--you don't know which type you'll get. For every Park Chung Hee (dictator that dragged So. Korea from developmental hell to modern industrial age), you get a dozen Mugabes, Amins, Saddams, etc.
I hope it all works out for Thailand and I've definitely got my fingers crossed for the Philippines.
