A question for GFY regulars.

How do you read the forum? Do you read every single thread or just from people you're friends with? I'm so used to reading all threads on other forums. But this forum has so many posts and pages worth of threads for just one day. Thanks.

BAKO 04-12-2010 03:27 AM

I read only your threads

mikeyddddd 04-12-2010 03:30 AM

The Duck 04-12-2010 03:43 AM

I read only Juicy D Links threads.

JustDaveXxx 04-12-2010 03:45 AM

Too funny!! You know this is an adult business forum right?

I scan mostly. Looking to see what catches my eye. Here's my method:
keyword in topic
thread starter name
# of views

Barefootsies 04-12-2010 05:13 AM

I do not ready 90% of the board.

I skim thread titles, and who's the O.P.. From there, I make a decision.

Chosen 04-12-2010 05:14 AM

"New Posts" :)

rigo82 04-12-2010 05:55 AM

it is hard for me too, though i would have wanted to scan all treads since my last login day or at least daily. I always press Today's Post but unfortunatelly there are not shown all, only last 150 posts, so even if i would login every day to check posts, i still couldn't check them all. I scan the titles, and read only those who catch my eyes and have some replies

Spunky 04-12-2010 05:57 AM

Usually just skim over the titles

This post is the only one that is not copy & paste :winkwink:

Mate, no way shall you be able to spend time reading "all" threads on this forum as to many threads are starting every moment of the 24hour day, lol and night for the sarcastic mother fuckers. :thumbsup

Read the threads that are either important to your position in the business or seem interesting to you from the title. Then read the whole of that thread. :2 cents:

Serial Pervert 04-12-2010 07:02 AM

i read those which i think it's interesting.

Klen 04-12-2010 08:38 AM

I open only threads which have interested title,no matter who created them.

J. Falcon 04-12-2010 08:50 AM

I look for titles that catch my eye.

lazycash 04-12-2010 08:55 AM

I ask fatfoo to message me if he finds anything worth reading. I let him do all the grunt work.

fatfoo 04-12-2010 08:56 AM

I read through everything and then I separate what's bullshit and what's not.

quiet 04-12-2010 09:18 AM

i read around one out of 50 threads.

I'm superficial looking at th new posts and if I'm seeking for some detailed info, the advanced search function can help.

Hrmm. I read only yours.

Must work well.

Elli 04-12-2010 01:17 PM

I just skim the thread titles, then look at the posters and views. I usually avoid multi-pagers because it takes too long to catch up. :)

amacontent 04-12-2010 01:36 PM

Im still wondering what you actually know about this industry or do you base all your descions on he said she said. Post a pic of your self and step up to the plate

HandballJim 04-12-2010 04:30 PM

always by thread title...

Jack Sparrow 04-12-2010 11:23 PM

New posts > interesting title and/or username that is either interesting or known to cause drama = Me reading gfy.

adamneve 04-13-2010 01:34 AM

I do the same. You learn how to filter all the bullshit on here after a while.

If you think this board has pages worth of threads for one day now, you should have been it back when I joined, and I'm considered a noob by many standards. It's dead slow now in comparison.

I scan by subject, then look at OP name to determine what I am going to read.

True. Back in the day, it was not uncommon to have 5 new pages daily.

Interestingly enough, the only forums growing in activity are blackhat webmaster forums and other "pushing the envelope" type of webmaster forums.

Sarah_Jayne 04-13-2010 05:20 AM

I read the thread titles and select which ones interest me.
