Does everybody and their mother call you to fix their computers just because you work online?

I have now resorted to breaking their computers even further forcing them to buy new ones... The calls have slowed down drastically.

u-Bob 04-11-2010 01:17 PM

I don't know anybody personally who uses one. Maybe I should recommend they get a mac when they call. A lot less rude than destroying their PC's and them buying another for me to destroy in the future... because once I fixed my first PC for someone all of a sudden everybody stopped caring about what they did on their PC's because if anything bad happened they just figure I'll run to the rescue.

J. Falcon 04-11-2010 01:28 PM

No, because I explain to them that working online doesn't mean you know how to fix computers.

Well, do you lie? Or do you live a secluded life? Or does no one care enough about you to ask what you do for a living?

Me, I have a wife with a big mouth.

I tried that. But when they hear the prices from the PC repair people they always come back to me begging to please try anyway.

CyberHustler 04-11-2010 01:31 PM

The only thing that really has worked for me after all these years of trial and error is destroying their computers and blaming it on myspace and porn.

Nicky 04-11-2010 01:32 PM

yep, all the time. I'm too nice to say no too :Oh crap

Yngwie 04-11-2010 01:42 PM

all the damn time. I can tell them I don't know shit about computers, but they know better so I get stuck fixing their shit all the time. It gets annoying.

hypedough 04-11-2010 03:01 PM

Happens all the time, family and friends included :( Oh well I guess it could be worse

Klen 04-11-2010 03:09 PM

Yes had that problem too but luckily nobody is calling me anymore.

Marquis85 04-11-2010 03:43 PM

YES and its fucking annoying! I'm too nice to say no though.. They usually have a bunch of viruses from clicking on whatever popups on porn sites lol

Babaganoosh 04-11-2010 03:49 PM

Ask them if you can bring your car to them next time it breaks down. Since they drive their car everyday they must be able to work on cars.

Yea, start monetizing it.

There's more than one way, especially if you are an affiliate.

Sign up to shitloads of mainstream affiliate sites. Then make them a customized Favorites menu, based on their personality and what you think they may buy.
