Calling ..KB and J$tyles for the sex.com mansion pics ......:) it looks like the domain of the century is going to hit the auction block this time with Sedo.

It would be really cool if they could pull back the $14 million but I doubt it personally....

In yet another twist to the domain saga that is “Sex.com” it was revealed today this now infamous domain may after all reach the auction block but this time with auction powerhouse Sedo.com

Mike Mann owns 3 companies that forced Sex.com owner Escom, LLC into bankruptcy and has now filed against the motion to dismiss the bankruptcy.

Mann says he filed the bankruptcy petition because he was concerned that the auctioneer chosen by Dom Partners to auction off Sex.com was unqualified.

Mann went on to add he believes Sedo would be a more qualified auction service to maximize the value of the domain. In fact, some of Escom LLC’s owners apparently have been in talks with Sedo for the past year to sell the domain.

Sedo CEO Tim Schumacher estimates it could take as long as 12 months to sell this domain properly,but a company experienced with domain sales could sell the domain for maximum value in about 90 days.

Sedo has already done its research on the domain and built a lead list. In a separate declaration in support of Mann’s opposition , Schumacher states that a sale of the domain name done correctly would likely yield in excess of $14 million. Escom is rumored to have paid that much for the domain name at the time of purchase.

Even with all the drama around it, I think it's still a great domain and I'm sure in the right hands it would be a huge project. Probably not worth $14M though...

I thought about 5 mill too but it seems the Sedo guy is talking in "excess of 14 mill" so maybe $15 mill + ???? ....I just cant see it somehow but well time will tell.

I think they will be very lucky to get $10m for it. My highly uneducated guess is between $5m and $10m.

You could be correct..but Im thinking with such a high profile domain and the publicity surrounding it Sedo wouldnt want to damage thier rep with making such a huge mistake on value......also it states that Sedo has been working on this for some time.....maybe they know something we dont.

If they are correct I wonder who would be in the running to purchase it at such a high price tag ? domain investers ? or someone in the adult industry ?

The only reason I could see not so is because it's TOO GOOD of a domain and no one would visit simply "sex.com" for their porn needs. Maybe a glorified dating site?

The way the value of this domain has been destroyed over the years is unbelievable!!! There is no way this domain has gone up in value since Gary sold it. Escom has just about killed it over the past few years. If someone pays more than $2 mil at the level it is now, the buyer better have one great plan for the domain or no way in hell they will make money with it. Good luck to the winner:helpme

Yup, this is probably the most valuable domain around the whole www at the same time there is some shady curse on it.
