    Regular Updates VS Backlinks - Whats more important in blogging?

    I know both have their own importance but what is more important in your opinion? Updating a blog daily with regular fresh content with right keywords or updating it weekly and working on more and more backlinks with right anchor text?

          Regular updates of quality content leads to backlinks.

          Once you have the quality content that the SEs like, get yourself some backlinks, then you can relax a bit.

                      If backlinks are so important, then how can people who know what they're doing get page 1 results (not from the Google dance) without any backlinks?

                          combo of both, maybe update every 2-3 days instead of a week and work on backlinks the other time, unique updated content is king, I have plenty of domains on the front page of google with zero backlinks

                                                  It's very simple-if you want to target more keywords,then updating.If you get let say keyword sausage first position and you want to keep that position,then you will need to only update number of back links otherwise competition will pass you.
