Free Trials vs. 1-3$ Trials
Is it worth offering free trials vs. 1-3$ ones???? My sites are the type with really high retention so Im thinking of testing out some free trials, but the fact is that Ive never even done trials before, always just a straight up first month price.
Also, with CCBill, they charge an extra excruciating 2% on 0$ trialz... :disgust |
You will do better with 2-3$ trials

Any idea why 2-3$ trials are better? (Im not speaking from an affiliate point of view, Im talking about my own site(s) with my own promotion) |
i always do better with $1 - $3 trials rather than free.
Guess people don't trust free trials :) |

$1 trials are the best.

Anyone with the opposite opinion having good conversions with 0$ trials?

Your traffic is unique, everyone's is.
The only REAL way to see what works best is through A/B testing. Send them 50/50 to free trials and $X trials... or break it up however you want. Watch your rebills and viola! You have the correct answer. There are no shortcuts to optimizing what works best for your site... |

Maybe, hopefully, after the traffic is sufficient, I can do some 50-50 experimenting :pimp |

What do you think is more profitable 1 or 3 day trials?
|
I used to do $4.95 trials for 3 days and had a pretty consistent retention of 30%. I'm thinking of doing it again so I can study it some more. I always thought a one day tour would prompt the member to immediately cancel where the 3 day tour might give them enough to want to stay. I do think that if they will pay a dollar they will pay 5 dollars for a trial though.
I have seen people charge 10$ for 10 day tours and wonder how that works for them. |

$1-3 are better. A lot of people that see the free trials think they are going to get scammed. I've had a lot of luck with $1 myself.
