Also, 30 minutes is not that long if you consider that most people will want to zap through a couple of videos a day to find what they are looking for.

I doubt it's an april fools joke, there were a few other larger tubes that went this route a year or so ago megorotic for example limited viewers to X amount of videos per day for a bit, then changed it to X amount of minutes.

prolly just burning through bandwidth and now making enough money these days.
