Stupid question
 

I'm altering a contract but I cant remember what the letters under the section is called.

For instance you have this...

1. Some Section of the Doc
a) some subsection of the section


I'm trying to write "The following will be changed, section 1, ???? a) to read"

The attorney told me what it was called but I thought I could remember, but I know it wasnt "subsection"
