It's not that they think they can beat the army... they think the army will join them if there is an uprising... seriously. I know a couple of these guys (who are also Tea Party "Activists") and that is what they say. Read what people like The Demon and Vendzilla post... they seriously think they are in a majority and they believe Republicans when they say things like "The majority of the country is with us" and "Obama is not listening to the people". These local guys I know say that same thing.

I think it was based on the fact that they were caught manufacturing pipe bombs and selling them to people in Ohio (across state lines). There were raids in Ohio and Chicago as well. It appears to have been a sting operation where they caught some of them in the act.

You and I both know that the raids were timed for maximum political impact for the purpose of fanning the administration's media narrative about "right wing extremism". Obama's agenda is so unpopular that they have to paint the opposition to his schemes as "racist" or "extremist" to try and stifle dissent. It is a time honored Marxist tactic.
