Apprentice chef
Apprentice dressmaker, cutter and designer. Then became qualified.
Bummed around Europe for three years doing what ever came. Including being in porn films. :thumbsup

Doing porn videos and pictures as a sideline.
Since 88 been a shooting porn/erotic content full time.

96ukssob 03-24-2010 12:22 PM

High School:
had a lawn mowing business with a friend
worked part time at kmart then office max

College:
PT worked at a cell phone store at a mall - probably best job ever
PT worked at office max again once cell store closed
PT worked at college library last two years in college

Post College:
Sales manager for hosting company - lasted about 3 months in 2004
SEM account manager at a few companies in 2005/2006
Started SEM/SEO agency with few friends in 2006
Consulting work in SEM/PPC from 2006 to 2008
Dissolved SEM/SEO company and setup straight SEM/PPC agency 2008 to current

Adult stuff I have been doing since 2003 and never really made it "full time" for more than a few months. still do a lot of it now when I get time but only brings in about 10-20% of my total income.

PenisFace 03-24-2010 12:32 PM

High school
*************

- Filling those 45 (or however many litre's, I cant remember) water jugs that you see on water coolers. $6.50 an hour :winkwink:

- cutting lawns during the summer with my dads lawn mower (he payed for the mower, the truck to get me to and from jobs, and the gas for the mower, lol). Looking back, I realize he probably spent more than I made on that job for me, just so that I could have spending money that I earned on my own :)

- misc. warehouse work. stacking boxes, unstacking boxes, loading trucks, unloading truck.s

After high school
******************

- More warehouse work. Lots of it. The only reason I stuck with it was because everyone I worked with was absolutely awesome, including the drug dealer who made something like $13 an hour at the warehouse, but still drove a merc, had several condo's (in vancouver no less) and always had thousands of dollars in cash on him, lol.

- self employed from there, to where I am today. Looking for a real job again though, something to do in addition to what I do at home all day, because being home alone for 10+ hours a day is absolutely soul draining for someone who loves to be social :(

V_RocKs 03-24-2010 04:14 PM

Grades 3-6 / Sell Vans and other stickers at school $2 to $10 a day
Grades 7-8 / Sell candy door to door $20 to $70 a day
Grades 9-12 / Pizza,Marie Calendars, etc... $25 - $55 a day (yes I made more in middle school than high school!)
Grades 9-12b / Sold shit at school ranging from blow darts to candy. $10 to $40 a day. (Hey, I had to make money and legit jobs weren't paying!)
After / Apprentice welder ($60), Grocery Clerk, Night Crew Manager($120)
Later / Airport Shuttle Driver ($80 to $400), Freelance Web Designer/Programmer ($100)
Even Later / Network Administration, etc.. ($140)

Now / Affiliate Advertising and some Net Admin ($wouldn't you like to know).

I think by far the shuttle job was the best I have ever had. The stories I could tell... You could take a 2 week period from any of the 6 years I was there and it could be made into a movie as comical and entertaining as The Hangover.

notime 03-24-2010 04:35 PM

Selling porn since I was 15 on Betamax, VCC, Magazines, VHS, DVD and later online.
Now I'm 37. Never knew any other industry or business then adult/media to be honest. My family have been in this business for 3 generations.

still working...in so many jobs

Vjo 03-25-2010 01:05 AM

Long distance car deliver driver (good job)

Logger (that didn't last long, tough fucking job in MN in July even tho I was like maybe 25)

Millwork grunt worker (I was 31, my "boss" was 18, I threw boards around, a job a 14 y/o kid could do as well, that didn't last too long either :)

Factory grunt worker, sorted product bins all day (that sucked too)

Pizza delivery guy (6 1/2 years night shift) good, fun gig, everyone I worked with was cool. Tiring tho. Those 4th floor college dorm stairs will kill ya after a while) Avg prob $10 an hour. People never tipped me like some guys. Guess I aint as charming in person. :) The stories i could tell. :)

OK you got twisted my arm, Uncle! :)

One time I was going thru a Holiday In. Some chick yells down the hall, "LOSER!". I kept on trucking. As long as noone grabbed the hotbag anything went. If you grabbed the hotbag that was a nono as I was half crazy back then. I once went out a guys door so fast after wrestling the hot bag back (he wasn't going to pay) that I tore the hinges off. I was a solid 6'3 255 then. :) Well sorta solid. More solid than now. :) The guy was yelling, "you fat bastard" as I put my weight against his door.. yelling all into the street back and forth as he stands at his door and I am back in my car. I didnt care as long as I could get the (now jumbled up) pizzas back to the car and on my way.

And the falls. Ever try carrying pies up some outside rickety iron step to get to some troll living in a third floor attic in January at 2:00 am when the snow was blowing and the shit was icy. Oh man. Memories. It was actually a pretty hard job in the winter. One year I did the whole winter with no heat (only when stopped at idol) moving.. no heat at -5. -10 :) in a 1981 Toyota Tercel.

What a crazy fucken job it was.

Gambrinus 03-25-2010 01:27 AM

Dishwasher at 15
Seasonal Matsutake hunter through high school. Great money.
Aluminum smelter, worst job ever.
Worked in library during college.
Grader at a seafood processor in Sitka, Alaska.
Internet porn for the last 12 years.

diablom 03-25-2010 01:33 AM

While on school - woodworker making chairs.
House builder.
Secret buyer.
Ventilating and air condition systems worker.
Having e-shop in my local country.
Customs agent.

Vjo 03-25-2010 01:58 AM

Since everyone is incl College I suppose I should mention I went to 2 trade schools, Appliance Repair and Refrigeration (1 year) and Municipal (Civil) Engineering (2 year). Then went on to get a BS in Industrial Engineering from a State University accredited with the U of Minn.

True. I didn't take over 1000 fricken tests to shut up when this day came. :) So I am proud of it. But I never really believed in school. I was a professional student I guess. :)

This makes it all the more crazy but at 31 after all that I decided I really didnt want to work in Manufacturing. Don't ask. I am a child of the 60's - 70's. We're all a bit f'd up. My parents foot the bill as long as I could cut it. So to avoid work, I cut it and did the school thing.

I didn't know what I wanted to do, except to be my own boss. That is #1 in life since really I walked out on the 18 y/o boss and realized this working shit sucks. :)

The dress making trade was the family business my Father, Grand Father and Great Grand Father were in the business on my Fathers side. On my Mothers side they were stall holders in a market or bookies runners. I had a stall as well missed that off the list.

It is not hard to see why you all are successful. I want to comment on a bunch but V-Rocks strikes me as a super hard worker, and a symbol of what really this whole thing is about. Hard work. Guys who can remember jobs that young come from a serious work ethic.

Anyhow I tell people I am competing with some of the world's smartest, and hardest working people and they (a few people on this board as well) scoff. I say, "everyone wants to stay home and work in your shorts" but it isn't easy, and it is some of the brightest minds across the world in this biz. Guys who knew the computer inside out in 1995, those guys had the advantage over guys like me.

We sometimes assume everyone around here is the "kid in the basement". Not hardly. And then again a few kids in the basement are fricken sharp as tacks too. :)
