$10p/h PHP programmer available.

I am available from Jan 03 and would prefer to work long distance. I can do almost anything you think of with PHP and I can also do some design.

Examples of my work are xtoolbox.com and webmasters.za.net

You get what you pay for. Hell, I wouldn't trust someone to clean my shitters for $10/hr.

hookers are $2 an hour out here, and i dont trust them, so i concur with you....

BUT

i need some PHP work done and if it isnt done right, homeboy doesnt get paid, so ill be contacting him =)

Why would anyone program PHP for $10/hr if they actually were any good?

Petr 12-26-2002 04:10 AM

if he "spends" ten times more time working on a job he will end up with the same money as a programmer asking for $100 per hour

'tis the season for trust. Anyone who would whore themselves out for $10/hr is a joke in my opinion. At any rate, good luck. If (READ:when) you give up, hit mike503 up about PHP. He's as comptent with PHP as I am with Perl. I guarantee he won't work for $10, but what self-respecting programmer would?

kmanrox 12-26-2002 04:31 AM

ive already had 2 programmers flake on my projects, and the work order is already done, it's worth one more try to me

DjSap 12-26-2002 04:41 AM

He propably lives in a country where $10 an hour is a good wage...Anybody can learn php, just sit and study and make scripts for about a month or two...nothing that requires college so I don't really see why you are suprised by $10 an hour...

Sambuka 12-26-2002 04:42 AM

Yo guys, you should see how many Indian programmers and webdesigners they have, huge corpurations are setting up offices there cause IT is really big there and since theres so many of them they earn jack shit. You can pay them 1/10 the amount of money.

If your after custom PHP on a tight budjet try going to www.elance.com post your project under the programming sections and you should have some of those indian companies respond. Can get some good cheap prices on stuff there. Who knows how good it is though.

And $80 an hour......fffaaaarrrrkkkktttthhhaaatt. But yeah you usually get what you pay for.

I have to agree here, for $10 an hour that is pretty cheap. I have seen too many people go to cheap programmers or buy cheap programs and wind up getting burned. Either the programmer steals stuff from the server, sets up their own accounts on the box, or some other crazy stuff.

Finding someone you TRUST is much more important than the price in my opinion. If you trust someone you will pay the price because you know they are honest. Support also has to come for that price too. I am not saying this person is not trustworthy, but I am saying that many of them are not, or it is a hobby for them with limited availability.

I live in a third world country and $10p/h is a very good wage over here.

As for quality of work, not too many php programmers would be able to write a remote traffic management service that does not need php or a database to supply the service to its members. Nor would many programmers find xtoolbox.com to be an easy task as it can compete with the best out there for tgp management.

I really don't see the need for some guys feel threatened.

If this was a USA based person, I would be cautious but as the poster mentioned, $10 an hour in his country is big tyming :)

Unlike other programming, there is no real PHP certification so if someone can do the job, great. $10 an hour? even better.

Of course, by the PROJECT is better.

Programmer 1: $50 an hour
Programmer 2: $125 an hour

Programmer 1: Takes 17 hours to do project ($850)
Programmer 2: Takes 5 hours to do project ($625)

:Graucho

In India there are loads of talented programmers who work for $15 an hour or so because that is like $50+ an hour in the states easy.

fuck elance... i got buttplugged by 2 programmers i hired from there. they promised the moon and delivered a heaping steaming pile of crap. bad luck perhaps, but i even had one guy farm the job down like three levels, and when i complained about the shitty work and communication, the boss told me i didnt know what i was talking about ... im referring to the company i hired via elance, mind you ... not elance itself... but just beware, there are a lot of useless fucks promising great work via elance... and im talking about companies that have 5 stars next to their names, and certified and whatever else they call it...

slimeballs ... i hate (incompetent) programmers... in hindsight, and in the future, i would rather pay top dollar for a responsible person who i know is not going to waste my time ... time is money.
