Insurers, drug companies came on board early and may profit from it

WASHINGTON - When historians write the book on how President Barack Obama's health care overhaul became law, they'll need to leave space for some unlikely advocates: lobbyists for the drug, insurance and hospital industries.

they only liked reform because they got what they wanted. no competition from a public option, no use of purchasing power to drive down drug costs, & lots of new customers to gouge, subsidized by the taxpayer. Its ironic that the bill may be a boon to the very companies it was supposed to reform. Too bad the public will have no appetite for more democrat reforms when this one utterly fails to contain cost.

More people are going to need to be insured, more people will be getting on the drug programs, more doctor hours

I really don't mind the healthcare bill, I just don't like the fact that you're forced to get insurance. I've never been to a doctor and don't ever plan on going to one. I don't trust the medical industry.

Now people that have never had healthcare insurance will have it and probably change the way they're living, I see that happening
I remember as a kid, none of my friends were on prescribed medicine, ask any kid now about what drugs the doctors have them on

Some of you opponents seem to think it's better to let all the money be raised in huge rate hikes, more denial of care for people who've paid into it for decades, dropping children with terminal illness and letting some asshole buy a new xbox with a bonus for denying you an operation. All while insurance company execs buy new yachts and homes.

Not that Im agreeing with the insurance companies, just stating a fact.

Never went without health insurance for my daughter and never was I asked if their was any pre existing health problems, she's 21 now and has always been on health insurance.
Insurance needs some work, I'll give you that, but right now the US can't afford another entitlement when Social Security is paying out more than it's taking in and medicare is running in the red. I think it's a grand thing to try to take this on all at once, but when has the government ran anything right?

I am not basing my approval or disapproval of their methods based on assumptions that it'll be perfect, or fears that it'll be armageddon.

I dont think it's perfect, and I dont think it's the destruction of America.
