Just how bad for you are plastic bottles. I mean are we really ingesting plastic when we drink from them?
|
Things aren't so black and white.
You should also watch / read about "Pharmaceutical Toxins" in our tap water. Granted, a lot of bottled water comes from the tap, so there isn't a clear-cut solution, but there are trace amounts of all kinds of pharma in our tap water that is not filtered (most notably, estrogen... All those birth control pills the ladies take, end up back in our tap water.). I read somewehre that the U.S. could filter it's water 1000x more than they do now, and it wouldn't reduce the pharma toxins by more than 1%. There is a way to help reverse these effects, however, it is not implimented currently on any large scale. "Reverse Osmosis", forcing the smaller water molecules through a membrane filter which traps the larger molecules like pharma, metals etc... Some more stuff to think about. |
Excellent points made Voodoo!
Thanks for the good input. |
lol ill keep drinking my fiji. Tap water is dirty
|
Just drink beer
|
great movie. These people know how to make simple good movies. Might be worth learning from them.
The facts are pretty plain too. About the plastic trash. It does not hurt to get an additional water filter I guess. But most cities have pretty lousy tap water. I hate LA tap water. Any third world country tap water is dangerous too. You can get pretty good water at US supermarkets, filtered right at the spot, refilling your 5 gallon reusable water bottle. That might be one of the best options. |
There are pros and cons, good and bad about everything, it's up to us how we decide to make our life healthier if others are not interested about it.
|
if you do taste tests of water in cities where people were basically raised on the tap water, of course the tap water will win.
i love water from the tap, but i think fiji tastes pretty good as well. |

just drink distilled water.. its the cleanest water out there...
i bought myself a water distiller too.. It heats up water to exact boiling point, then cools the vapor and it turns back to water.. eliminates 100% of toxins basically.. |
I'm proud to say that I've never had any bottled water. Not from a bottle, and not poured into a glass. My tap water is not bad raw, and I also have a reverse osmosis filter which takes my water down to 0 to 10 parts per million.
I've also checked my local water boards website and accessed the toxins report. There are some small amounts of a couple of pharmaceuticals in there. One of them is Ibuprofen, but it's amount is 1.6 ng/L (parts per trillion).. now.. while thats kind of alarming, bear this in mind. Someone wanting the equivalent of one 200 mg/L Ibuprofen tablet, he or she would have to drink 528 million 8 ounce glasses of water. The other is caffeine. Also in teensy barely detectable amounts. Everyone should simply check the googles for their county/city water board, they are most likely required to make public the reports for your area too. |
fuck 9/11 conspiracies, fluoridation is the real conspiracy.
Fluoridation is the greatest case of scientific fraud of this century. i've been off water for years now and never felt better. i can't even remember the last time i had water. |

EDIT: that may not be true, but there was definately a re-call |
I have a reverse osmosis filter at home. Sure saves a lot of money on bottled water.

On a brighter note.. this is a report from boston a few days ago... If you notice they show a bag of flouride.. pause it there and read the warnings.. this whole time the same clip is telling you that flouride is safe to drink.. its rather crazy. |
Tap water here seems to vary between smelling/tasting as if it came from the fish pond and smelling/tasting of so much chlorine it could have come out of the pool.
|
Where the hell does she get her "facts."
"In nationwide taste tests people consistently rate tap water as better tasting than bottled water." Bullshit... |
Water is for losers! Drink beer :thumbsup

I havn't drank bottled water in my home for the last 8 years, they invented a double filter system that goes undr your sink and filters water twice with 2 different types of filters and a small spicket is set on the other side of your sink so you pop it up and clean water comes out, after 8 years the thing has paid for itself 5 times which is good, me and my family have been drinking clean water so thats good so plastic bottles can go fuck themselves.

These things are actually cheap. I'm impressed. |
I currently use a water filtration system at home and I bottle my own water to freeze or refrigerate.
My question is...Has anyone ever tested their home water after it has been filtered? I see the Amazon.com sells a self-test kit for $20 or Dollars. Thanks for great input everyone! |

Again, for your homes tap water, your local water board will have a website or reports available most likely. It's public info. after all. Worth a search. |
