Saw 7? seriously?

I was just browsing around checking the movie sites and seeing whats happening etc..

And I cam across a lot of info about Saw 7. And maybe even 8.

Are they seriously considering this? how many more films can they make out of this franchise? I thought 6 was meant to be the last, now they are making 7. And apparently they have been shooting this since february and are doing it in 3D.

Anyone got any more links or info on this?

And what are your views? I personally thought 6 was fairly good as far as movies go, and the ending would have satisfied me as the end of the franchise but making a 7th and maybe even an 8th doesn't make any fucking sense to me.

Flashback to the 80's b grade horror/suspense world, and you'll realize they can easily ride this baby out to at least volume 14-15...

fatfoo 03-21-2010 06:29 PM

They can make a 7th... Sure, why not.

Very true! but I would have thought the modern audience would have been satisfied with 6 and making a 7th and maybe even 8th would just frustrate and piss them off.

Like I said, I watched 6 and was satisfied with the ending etc. Can't see where they can take 7 other than the wife, but if she completed what was meant to be jigsaw's "plan" in 6, then what is left?

I predict a complete fuck up of a movie and a ruining of the series. (which probably already happened)

If they keep this up like you say. they will end up like friday the 13th / halloween / nightmare on elm street.

Semi-Retired-Dave 03-21-2010 06:38 PM

Until they see a major dip in sales, they need to keep going. Demand is key. Ride the gravy train before it's all free on tube sites. lol

brassmonkey 03-21-2010 06:39 PM

i likes my gore

Si 03-21-2010 06:49 PM

Yep unfortunately it looks like they are going to milk the fuck out of this.

I know Brassmonkey! me to! I will probably end up watching it even if it's shit just to see the gore in it. But I kinda wish they left it where it was. 6 seemed good and a decent ending to the series. Where they will take this 7th one I have no idea.

Anyone got any info on it?

GAMEFINEST 03-21-2010 06:54 PM

way too many ..

in absence of imagination out of hollywood, the money comes from milking every dime out of proven franchises.

Rich as fuck with cult following sprawling decades? I think they'll take that, it's got to be easy money at this point, even if they aren't pulling the numbers they used to. They'll still be making versions of Saw another 10 years from now, and people will still watch them, even if they wind up going straight to DVD. Then another 20 years after that they'll do a remake trilogy...

What's the real expense in producing a saw movie? Designing and building a half dozen new death traps. Once you got those down, the movie is pretty much finished.

candyflip 03-21-2010 08:07 PM

Make 'em til they don't make money. That's Hollywood.

brassmonkey 03-21-2010 08:11 PM

every oct 31st there should be a new 1

CDSmith 03-21-2010 08:55 PM

What are the Friday the 13th movies up to now, part 27?

I think the sky's the limit for the Saw franchise.

J. Falcon 03-21-2010 08:58 PM

Those movies fucking suck.

spunky99 03-21-2010 09:31 PM

maybe they'll do a saw in space too..

it couldnt be worse then them making multiple vampire movies..

SomeCreep 03-21-2010 09:42 PM

I still haven't seen part 1, but I hear it's the best.

Danny B 03-21-2010 09:44 PM

I don't like the saw movies, but apparently many people do.
As long as it is profitable to keep the series going, it will.

Hollywood isn't about making good movies, it's about making profitable movies.

BobChezule 03-21-2010 09:45 PM

The last Saw movie saw a major dip in revenue but that was because of Paranormal Activity (or so they hope). Chances are good this one will gross in the $50 million range and it costs roughly $10 million to make so that's crazy amounts of profit. It would be stupid of them not to keep making them if they can make money off of them.

Deej 03-21-2010 10:06 PM

I figured 10...

brassmonkey 03-21-2010 10:12 PM

freddie is back!! nightmare on elm street i remember seeing the first 1 johnny depp was a youngster i think that was b4 21 jump street. friday the 13th movies were made 4 drive ins damn fun times.

Elli 03-21-2010 10:23 PM

Well, if you watched Saw 6, then you're an enabler :) I stopped watching after Saw 3. He died, that was good enough for me. Or did he??? LOL

BAKO 03-21-2010 10:28 PM

I dont think the cop dies in Saw 6

brentbacardi 03-21-2010 10:34 PM

I like the saw movies, my gf hates them though so whenever we go to the store I am like, Oh I think I will buy the saw set of dvds btw its I think 1-5 for like $15 or 20 bucks so its tempting but she then offers that if I don't buy it (since id make her watch it all) to buy beer or something for me lol so I will keep milking this as long as they keep rolling out new saw movies lol

JD 03-21-2010 10:45 PM

i stopped watching them after #3

Jakez 03-21-2010 10:46 PM

They will make like a dozen of these, and then remake them every 20 or so years.

Friday the 13th was up to ten in the original series, not counting Freddy vs. Jason. And there was the recent "reboot" of the series.

CaptainHowdy 03-22-2010 05:52 AM

I try not to complain about horror movies... it can be bad for your health.

Konkan 03-22-2010 06:18 AM

great story in there

4pleasure_Davide 03-22-2010 07:24 AM

No not another one !

Si 03-22-2010 07:28 AM

I just read somewhere else, they may not make a Saw 8 because of 7 didn't take as much at the box office as they had hoped.

Instead the might try and get 7 and 8 into one movie.
