Anybody here know who hosts the extreme-board.com pirate board?

Its one of those forums where surfers (and others) post links to rapidshare (and other) hosted videos for free downloading.

Anyway, there are links to tons of my stolen content posted on that forum and, of course, the Russian forum owner is ignoring my DMCA takedown notices.

I'm thinking maybe I'll have better luck sending the DMCA notices to his webhost instead.

Any info in this regard would be greatly appreciated.

BTW, you guys might want to run your eyes over that forum in any event because, most likely, someone's posting links to your stolen content there as well.

They have some shady upstream providers as well.

Hard to compete with that.

Not sure why you people waste your time sending DMCAs out to foreign webmasters and hosts. They're not liable for the same laws as you.

Why are you sending extreme-board the DMCA? They are not hosting or storing the content. You need to DMCA the file host (Rapidshare or whoever else) and even the image host they use for the screen caps of the content. Otherwise you are wasting your time...

I've already DMCA'ed the Rapidshare clone that's hosting the files (and who's taking their sweet time about complying).

I want the thread removed as well because:

1. The board thread might be removed sooner.
2. Whoever posted the original links will just come back later and substitute new URL's (in that same post) once the first ones are no longer valid.
3. To help out the other producers whose stolen content is linked in that same thread.

Keep in mind here that pirate forum webmasters are subject to the same DMCA laws as Rapidshare and, for that reason, they usually comply with take down requests.

They aren't subject to the same DMCA laws because they aren't storing your content, they are only linking to it. That is why they have not and probably won't remove the thread, because they don't have to. You can find some board owners that will remove the thread to not deal with the hassle, but extreme-board and the other big boards will not. I know it sucks but it is what it is...

Perhaps that board's host will see differently.

Time will tell.

Be that as it may, I can certainly see why people are prepared to go to the lengths mrfrisky was crying about however :disgust

The amount of free content on that forum is just incredible. On their home page stats it says 60,000 active users and you can see 5,000 ONLINE users all the time, insane.

Have sent tons of takedown requests to rapishare and friends from extreme-board, have had my entire members area cloned many times...most producers have :(

Worse part is the livejasmin ad that has been at the footer for years...if their lifeblood revenue was cut, there would be much less incentive to keep sites like that alive. Sad really, but guess it's the world we live and work in now, and just have to grow and adapt.

I just took another look at that board. I seriously can't believe the amount of free content. Man, complete site rips posted on those threads and all files are UP since months. Sponsors don't care about it ? If I were a sponsor, I would care and report my stolen stuff. Or they report it and the owner of extreme-board and/or rapidshare clone laugh at them ? Each thread gets so many "thanks" that it shows: too many to display and there 5000 online users at all times. Insane.

What makes me laugh is when I hear some guys here in GFY say things like:

"places like (exteme-board) don't affect sales at all, if your sales are down, is because you are failing"...

It really makes them sound like the owners of some small rapidshare clone. We webmasters, are definitely, our worst enemy.

there are a lot of reapidshare clones nowadays.. too many to list, but some I remember are:

depositfiles, sharingmatrix, hotfile...

Yeah those are quite popular ones. I just thought they use some specific clone at extreme-board.com because it sounded like maybe the owner of this board is probably the owner of the rs clone they use too.
