Ok! I was going to buy a dog at the pet store. She brings me one of those "hybrid" dogs. We get into a discussion and I flat out tell her, "That's a damn mutt!" She argues with me the difference between a mutt and a "hybrid". I tell her fucking is fucking and whether it's intentionally done by humans or the dogs did it themselves, these are fucking mutts! They costs more than the individual pure bred dog costs. I think she showed me a Chiweenie. That's a chihuahua and a dachshund mix. I just saw on dallas.backpage.com a puggle...aka a pug and a beagle mix that was astronomical! Sheesh!! Below is a puggle!

thats why I like to get pets from the pound you save a life and its not too expensive at least the money goes for a good cause.

you will definitely find a better "hybrid" at your local animal shelter...and alot cheaper!

pets are a rip off in general. we paid 200 bucks for our kitten from the humane society.

I don't get this either, because according to the AKC...a Hybrid is nothing more than an overexpensive Mutt.

adopt a shelter pup.... AKC is terrible too they condone hacking dogs body parts off for vanity.

those hybrid dogs, poor guys, people are making $ breeding them.

Pet stores mostly use Puppy mills which produce dogs for retail, the ones that do not sell in 1-2 months are put down...

Never buy from a Pet Store, If you saw how and what they go through to get them there.
Buy one from your local Shelter.

just go to your local animal shelter and adopt one. usually they throw in the shots for free and spade/neuter discounts. Plus your doing a good thing. :thumbsup

Since you are in Dallas you should go hit up Operation Kindness in Addison. We got a purebred mini dachshund from there 5 years ago. She is THE best dog I have ever had and was already house trained. We used to raise Bassett Hounds for my FFA project waaaay back in the day and my dad is one of the top Basenji Breeders in the US. Puppy Mills are bad for the legit breeders who dont overbreed their dogs.
The puggles are really cute but not worth $600-2000 like in the paper. I went to O.K. to look at a puggle when we found Heidi. The puggle looks like a tiny Bull Mastiff when grown and they even have pocket puggles the size of tiny teacup poodles.

Definitely goto a shelter. I picked the dog that looked the most scared, cowering in the back of his cage and he's been the best pet I've ever had.

Its a AKC dog. Pugs had so much problems with breathing, thats why they mixed it with hunting dog. I know someone who has both, pug and puggle. Cute dog. They had to fly it from another state.

The dog pound has tons of pure breads and hybrids.

All can be purchased dirt cheap. Want papers? See the Chicano guy on the corner, he can also make you a drivers license and a passport.

got my hybrid from the shelter, husky/german shepherd i call her "wolf". one beautiful bitch she is, lol. 100 bucks.. all the shots, a free vet visit, "fixed" her and all that shit. good deal.

sadly most people should never have pets and they certainly shouldn't be buying them when your local animal shelter is killing beautiful animals daily

They get all their pups/dogs from puppy mills which are terrible conditions and alot of inbreeding going on.

The pound has pure breeds and so do rescue groups. So many perfectly healthy dogs and cats are put down each year. I adopted my black lab from the pound and my german shepherd from a rescue group.

After reading all the comments here I guess I'm going to probably take some heat for this but sure its easy to say "go to a shelter" "adopt from a rescue" etc but it just isn't for everyone. Sure you might be able to find a dog that matches what you are looking for after a while of searching but you don't know the history or owners or the health history of the dogs.

You could pay 300 dollars from a shelter for a dog you fall in love with and it has hip problems or something in a year and has to be put down after you have fallen in love with your new best friend just because you wanted to save some cash.

You can find real breeders that do this for a living who really want what is best for you and your new animal. You can get the exact breed you are looking for and have been bred to live their full life expectancy without major issues.

There certainly is a need for shelters but it is really a personal decision on which pet you want or will settle with. I would find a freebie someone is trying to rehome on craigslist if I wanted to gamble before I would shell out 300 dollars.
