3D video is coming - new Panasonic camera for $21k

Panasonic have just announced a new dual lens 3D camera for just $21k. How long before us porn producers will be shooting in 3D? 3 years? 5?

If I had 21K handy I'd start right now.

much sooner than that - there are a couple Russian content providers on GFY already shooting and selling 3D content.

i like the 360 degree camera that was posted here not long ago.

but wouldn't 3d monitors, and or glasses be needed to view content shot in 3d? this surely must take years to implement.

yes i just noticed you need freaking 3D glasses! http://pro-av.panasonic.net/en/3d/

back in the 50's with 3D movies you needed glasses, wheres the advancement?? wow its in color...

when 3D is viewed naturally on a screen without additional crap needed, thats when things will get good

Cool stuff. :D I think that 3d will rejuvenate the industry.

It'll be some years before it's the industry standard. If you remember, Mutt, we priced out going HD in early 2004, but MOST content buyers weren't interested then, and didn't start requiring HD content till, what? 2007-8? I had one client only go all-HD in June 2009.
