The adult magazine business is nearly dead.

Well it is for us shooters.

After years of decline it's finally got to the point of being a big risk to shoot for them. So few buy and most rely on old content or pay so little to make it nearly pointless to shoot for them.

Had some great years in fact some very great years, but everything good comes to an end.

Thankfully we still have the Internet. :thumbsup

ya non-porn mags are still growing but no one buys spank mags. easier to spank with a mouse and more variety (and video!)

Funny that I see this thread just after hearing of a site online which also has a print mag... A number of different people have now linked me there and I really think it has something going. It looks like it crosses a Maxim style with some erotic nudes / softcore stuff...

http://www.frontarmy.co.uk/

It's been around a while I guess I just never heard of it... I do think they're right on target for their market / brand though... it's well done.

For me it's a nostalgia thing. I remember the days of shooting for them and working a few hours a day, 6-8 times a week and making a 6 figure salary. Or flying to Spain, Portugal or the Canaries with 6-8 girls and shooting once in the morning and once in the late afternoon and coming home knowing you had a holiday and made a profit. :thumbsup

Now I have to work for a living. :(

All things must change. :winkwink:

i liked the fact that i could sell a set that i have been selling online for 50 bucks already for 2 or 3 years to a mag for $1000 - but this has indeed become very rare. :(

Montcalm left my photog John holding the bag to the tune of 16K and left two of our models owed 25K. And now I see the same shit happening with Magna and I told him to stop sending them sets.

Hustler and BarelyLegal are still good - for now anyway.

For us it was the other way around. Sell it to the mags then sell it online for years.

After years of over-charging magazines? They just can't afford it anymore.

Montcalm were one of my last calls when I went to the US. Always thought they were a bit dodgy. So never lost anything but did have to pull a few sets back from them when the rumors started.
