Phoenix Forum ... quick question ... do we need a rental car?
Hello, this will be our first PHX forum and we are very unfamilar with the area. Will we need a rental car to get around or should we be ok with the shuttles?
|
No!!! everything is in the hotel or walking distance (e.g. Hooters), and the furthest hotel has free Shuttle service.
|
No, you wouldn't want to drive anyways.
Absolutely, 100% NOT NEEDED. |
Thanks guys :thumbsup

I am renting as i am staying 3 miles away and Phoenix does not have a real taxi service

Don't need a rental car. But I can sure use a room! I should have booked earlier, but all four closest hotels are all sold out! Tempe Mission Palms, Tempe Courtyard Downtown, Tempe Hyatt Place and Tempe Twin Palms! Anyone have a room to spare?
|
Everything is walkable and they have shuttles onsite too.

Phoenix does have taxi's... they just cost you an arm and a leg. If you want to see anything except the immediate Tempe area you should rent a car. You will probably be busy most of the time anyway... I imagine I will rent one for Sunday since I am taking the red eye home because that is what got booked. :P

There are still rooms for the twin palms on http://hotels.com but I got a cheaper one at the Country Inn Suites only .95 miles from the event for $66 a night with free breakfast, free internet, & free shuttle service. I will have more money to drink with now haha!

at the phx airport, limos are the same price as taxis so you might as well arrive at the hotel in style :)
|
you shouldn't need one..

The Twin palms is quite a hike since it's south of ASU but it's a nice time of year so if you room there the walk won't be too bad. We do have the light rail too so that's an option for you guys staying even farther out.
