Roulette is going to be the new "tube" word?

Dappz 03-18-2010 08:26 AM

thats cool ;)

lagcam 03-18-2010 11:15 AM

I am sure this market isn't going to get saturated anytime soon.

/sarcasm

If you have a way to monetise a site like that Will then maybe better make an offer for camsroulette.com which I note is parked at namecheap.......

a one cam roulette site might be a little boring ;)

Click..." oh hello again"

pimpin 03-18-2010 12:06 PM

Thanks for the offer. I've already had a $5k offer though.

And yes. Roulette may be the new "tube" . And Yes you can come up with a zillion new "roulette" variations like people do with tube domains, but this one already is getting type in traffic and making money. That traffic can surge with some dev efforts.

There's ways that you creative folks here can make some better cash on this domain than the current setup.

Oh and if you only have $5000 to spend you can bid on VideoRoulette.com . . .it's not getting near the traffic or earnings, but it has dual meaning as a solid casino domain name as well as possibly a chatroulette knock-off site.

In about a week orso, when everyone is registering "roulette" names, and putting up clonescripts. I hope for your sake that you sell it before that happens, or that you will keep that traffic.

I wouldnt be amazed if its going down fast, but again good luck to you!:thumbsup

There's thousands registered 2 months ago before this got all the attention it has now and the clones are already abundant, but I don't think this domain is for a copycatter. This if for someone who can think outside the box and improve upon the idea.

I'm not even a promoter and not in this dating/cam space but I'd think you could make your coin back quick with some creativity and just the 700 uniques a day landing on a page where they're looking for some webcam action. What's the conversion rate on that kind of traffic ? What will the repeat visitors be like once the site is "functional"?

Anyway, enough of my justification. Either you figure it out and bid or you whine in here about it. I'm cool holding on to it and trying my hand at converting it if it doesn't sell.

Traffic and earnings were steady. . . and thanks for the well wishes

cam roulette traffic will be solid as long as chatroulette is popular, which it doesn't seem to be going anywhere. chat roulette should have been called cam roulette there is a lot of cam action and very little "chat" on that site. If cam roulette was built right it could feed big time off of the fame of chat roulette and could possibly even over take it.

I can register other roulette domains for free, but cam roulette is the only domain that will benefit from chat roulette type in traffic.

pimpin if you have ICQ contact me, if I had more information I could offer you more.

Jack Sparrow 03-19-2010 01:35 AM

probably not. if it was chat roullet it might get a few typo miss spellings, but doubt you get anyone that is going to put cam instead of chat and also murder the spelling of roulette.

You should. I've been making a living for the past 3 years doing it, just did over $4,000 in sales today of domains that I've paid altogether about $100 on. If Evan can sell mangotube then anyone can do this.

sharkpower 03-24-2010 07:46 PM

CamRoulette.com for 151k? Thats Incredible.

Why not go and register ScamRoulette.com for 7 dollars?

It's just one character more hehe.

No just kidding, i saw that there has been many new registrations the previous days when it comes to Roulette domains.
Everyone wants to have a piece of the dollar cake.

I made my choice and registered:

BizarreRoulette.com
BizarreRoulette.net
BizarreRoulette.org

Maybe it can be the most bizarre 'roulette' site of them all!

Have a nice evening

Congrats again! Fun times being a domainer. Ups and downs to things but its moments like this where your inspiring everyone and it can be done.

yeha but the main question is how do you know what to buy and what not to buy? I just had to let go 25 domains because after trying to sell them no one wanted them and i put them up everywhere.

is there some sort of procedure one has to follow?

At this point for me, half is procedure and half is feel. If procedure was enough to get good domains, then automated appraisals and likely some programs to find/register good domains would be around by now. As it is, automated appraisals are a complete joke, which indicates the human element is still very much needed in domaining. The feel part of it comes from having done this 6 years and probably gone through millions of domains by now, and even then things change over time too so you need to take THAT into account.

Yesterday's sales were mostly "feel" ones whereas most of my day-to-day sales are mostly ones gotten w/ sticking to procedure. The day-to-day ones are the ones that pay my mortgage/bills/etc and the feel ones are icing on the cake basically.

I actually ended up closing $4,900 in sales yesterday in total. A guy I was going back/forth with for months on an $800 domain finally moved forward and paid. That was one I regged less than a year ago, so in total about $4,900 in sales on about $110 investment. Yes there's some commission fees out of that, but still...I'd like to see stocks/bonds/forex/etc. do that on a regular basis. :)
