Anyone Ever Been to a WWE Event?

We are looking to take our boys to WWE: The Road to Wrestle Mania and before I buy the tickets I was wondering if anyone else has ever gone to a WWE/WWF show before, and if so, how was?

TDF 03-15-2010 12:39 PM

its rawkus in every sense of the word. Well at least up in the first few rows it was. But this was back when I found the WWE entertaining (early 2000's) i couldnt tell you how it is now though

Taken my son to several of them including WrestleMania a couple years ago. Always a fun time even if you're not into wrestling.

You'll have a good time :)

While the dialogue is intriguing, I'm not a huge WWE fan. However I think it will be worth the look on my boy's faces.

I liked old school wrestling that was on USA at noon on Saturdays. Those were the days. =)

Varius 03-15-2010 12:47 PM

I just went a few weeks ago to their first-ever show in Costa Rica and it was a blast! I'll also be at Wrestlemania in two weeks.

The "house shows", ie. non-televised events, are often more fun than televised events as the wrestlers really seem to have a good time and have a lot more chance to interact with the local fans, as they are not on a tight tv schedule.

CIVMatt 03-15-2010 12:57 PM

kristin that's half the fun seeing them lose their minds haha, I promise you'll have a good time even not being a fan.

MrBottomTooth 03-15-2010 12:57 PM

I went about 5 years ago because a friend had tickets.

I was disappointed that you can't hear the announcers talking during the show. I thought maybe they would pipe their conversation over the loudspeakers or something. Hearing the stupid shit they say is probably the best part.

I would only go again if I had close to ringside seats. If you can't get good seats then don't bother.

edit: since you are taking kids they still might enjoy it.

Elli 03-15-2010 12:58 PM

I've been to a couple of them and they were tons of fun. Lots of shouting and such. Kind of the same crowd as a good football game, but with more kids. Bring money for tshirts of their favourite wrestlers :)

GTS Mark 03-15-2010 01:01 PM

Tons of fun! Do they still bring signs to these shows? LOL!

NaughtyRob 03-15-2010 01:39 PM

Its fun but get there early, it takes forever to get in. They are always packed.

I've seen signs still at the WWE events.

I'll bring one that says "Send me your mobile traffic!" I guess I could put up a GTS Mobi logo on it. =)

JD 03-15-2010 01:45 PM

First and last one I went to featured The Hulk and Andre The Giant wrestling lol

Robbie 03-15-2010 01:48 PM

It really depends on the people surrounding you. The last time I was at a WWE show, there was a mother with her little boy (looked to be around 6 years old) sitting beside us. His eyes were wide as saucers and he was so excited.

Unfortunately the entire section seemed to be drunk off their ass on the beers they were drinking. And it didn't take long for "fuck" "cunt" and every word you wouldn't want your 6 year old to hear to fill the air.

Finally the mother took her kid and left

Yeah the last one I went to was like that. It was a pretty good section, but the row right in front was a bunch of drunks who were 6 guys sharing 3 tickets, so they would sub-out to get beers, then come back and demand seats from the other guys. Soon there was a fight and security came in and escorted them out. I hadn't seen any of the event until they left because they wouldn't sit down and were all pretty tall and rowdy.

Eh, nothing they don't hear at the dinner table already.

I kid, I kid.

RED CHUNDER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

BradM 03-15-2010 02:10 PM

I went when I was like 11. it's pretty lame. I guess cause it's fake and everyone there is a drunken redneck.

truebluetalent 03-15-2010 02:23 PM

Went to one a couple months ago in Tampa. My buddy gave me some 3rd tix and not even being a WWE fan I had a great time.
Have to admit the WWE Divas was the best part :winkwink:

selena 03-15-2010 02:39 PM

I took both my sons when each of them went through their wrestling phase.

It was a good time.

Oh like you would have something positive to say. :winkwink:

Definitely goto the small shows if you get a chance. I always had a blast any time Stampede Wrestling rolled through town. It's just fun to get hammered, go down to the arena and scream at these guys. Taunt the midgets and whatnot.

I remember this dude "Red Thunder" or something, a big native guy. He came out cutting down the whiteman and flipping everybody off. Great way to get a bunch of northern Alberta hillbillies in an uproar. Got everybody all riled up, it was a great show...

I'd go again in a heartbeat.

HandballJim 03-15-2010 06:02 PM

over 20 years ago WWF at MSG, someone gave us some free tickets. It was entertaining for sure.

As a kid I could not wait for saturdays to watch WWF until my dad told me it was not real...I was 9 years old. :disgust

PornstarXS 03-16-2010 08:47 PM

i've been twice, but it was maybe 12-15 years ago. once was at the CNE in toronto, outdoors. It was pretty nuts, i believe the wwf didnt hold that many events in canada prior since the maple leaf garden days. And it was summer at the CNE, i remember seeing Pyscho Sid feeding an elephant. But it was a nice show with HBK battling Goldust for the belt and chicks going nuts when HBK had his ass exposed (of course it had to be goldust lol). Best part was Undertaker, 10,000 fans lighting up their lighters outdoors. I went one other time when they had it at the skydome in the Stone Cold, Bret Hart era. It was funny seeing Brian Pillman bringing back hot chicks backstage, wrestling poontang banging.

But nowadays the production values are 10 times better, and PG. Should be fun for the family, your kids will remember it forever especially if they are fans. But like someone wrote earlier if you're not around shit disturbers then it should be fun.

As for signs - back 10 years ago you could get away with anything. Nowadays they screen signs, especially for tv broadcasts, if it's risque or displays something disparaging about their faces (good guys)

Imortyl Pussycat 03-16-2010 10:17 PM

i haven't been in a long time but used to go often. so much fun, they will love it!

Horny Alf 03-17-2010 12:52 AM

I went to a WWE show a few nights ago, and have been going since i was a little kid. Definitely a cool way to spend a few hours, your kids will have a blast.

Owner 03-17-2010 11:26 AM

I watched ECW back in the day... New Jack would bring a shopping cart full of shit to hit people with... that shit was great... Tommy Dreamer got thrown down through 4 tables from the top of a warehouse ... you cant fake that

JC Maldini 03-17-2010 12:38 PM

We went to a couple PPV about 10 years ago when the Rock was the main attraction and Triple H was dating Vince's daughter. We had a really good time. You don't have to be a fan to enjoy it :)
